discharge rate might be too low and then it won't work.
that happened to me with a Raijin battery they sell at UNcompany.

basically, smaller cells ( including regular AA-sized cells ) most probably won't be enough.

what's the capacity?
I would just order on www.cheapbatterypacks.com

ok, the cells in it seem to be same size as one in my frends battery for his aeg

what's the mAh rating? physical size is only a part of matching up the cell.

all it says is 9.6v on battery and to look in manual for more info which i lost, and ive been looking for the MAh ratin online but i cant find

Check the polarity. Small airsoft batteries are opposite of most others.
