Duster gas adaptor installation

So I got an AI duster gas adaptor, and a can of Ultra Duster computer duster gas. The problem is, these computer dusters come with one of those easy-to-use spray adaptors on top. I cannot figure out how to take that part off so I can attach my adatpor onto the bare nozzle. I don't really want to just pry it off with my hand (I tried a little bit, and it is very tight so I don't think that's how I am supposed to do it), since I am afraid gas might explode in my face.
Does anyone know how to safely remove this?

They look like one of these http://www.amazon.com/Memorex-10OZ-1...ef=pd_sbs_op_1

I always just break them off.

Gas has never once exploded in my face.

Usually I pry a flat headed screwdriver in somewhere where I can get leverage and go from there.

Duster is either diflourethane or tetraflouroethane, never CO2.

And ya, just break it off.

No cause that would be soooo illegal in terms of how the canisters are made. I'm 99% sure that if duster had CO2 stored inside it it would make the canister explode on the shelf if not during manufacture or transportation.

That being said it's actually difluoroethane (some may be tri or tetra) I believe the one you want is actually harder to find these days.

OP: Just take a screw driver or something and pry it off. From my experience it's kind of like taking the top off an Axe or Old Spice body spray can. Just get a screwdriver or something thin that you can push underneath get some leverage and pry it off.

You can break them off, its not has hard as you think but it does take a fair bit of effort. I've done 3 thus far with no issues.

I just press sideways on the trigger assembly and it's always popped off no problem. And this has been for a few dozen cans of duster since I first started using it in 2003.

That could be taken slightly out of context
