Real Rifle scopes?

From my understanding, aslong as the scope (airsoft or real firearms) fits on the gun, it will work. However, real riflescopes will be of a higher quality in clarity and durability. So why do airsoft players use airsoft toy scopes?

Ive been doing some scope research and this site came up http://www.barska.com/ They are currently doing a 50% off sale. Everyone should take a quick peek at it

We use "toy" scopes because;

1. Real optics that we use the replica of are extremely expensive.
2. The range of a bb is such that anything above 3x magnification is not needed.

Because a "BB" doesn,t travell as far as a real round so why would you want to put a high power scope on an airsoft gun that has not the range of real steel !

Wow i guess that was a stupid question!
So since the rails on airsoft guns are realistic, i should be able to mount pretty much any scope?

Also keep in mind, a real firearm has recoil, and airsoft does not. So if you put a RDS scope on a real firearm, it won't hold "zero", where a quality Real Steel one would

very true, I agree.....BUT.....even though anything over 3x magnification isnt really needed, I highly suggest having the scope laser boresighted at least 25 yards.....even though its a toy scope and its airsoft, It does matter if the scope`s not dialed in.....even though the scope is a toy...the dials should adjust.

I've heard positives about the short dot clone the folks at Barska make. http://www.barska.com/ac10770.html

I use a Bushnell Trophy Gold 1.5X-6X scope and I love it

I'll be putting one on my M4 once I build that thing as well.

Negative:

We have a number of real optics, and several of them have a hard time mounting on certain airsoft guns as the rails are not all milspec. For instance, I could not get a real Elcan to mount on my KWA M4. But a real EOTECH fit fine. Said Elcan DID fit on a CA M4, so it was obvious that the KWA M4's rail was not accurate (I would say it's a tad too small). We've noticed this on other guns, mainly china clones (but not all).

A lot of real optics, and all repro optics, I've used have fit on airsoft rails. Just try before you buy if you can.
