Neighbor scared? called the cops?

My friends and i went on shooting a box in my court yard and i don't know WHICH NEIGHBOR (i'm guessing it's the chinese beside my house, even though i'm chinese, i really hate that family because my friends always comes over so we have like 5-6 cars parked and sometimes, we take their parking spot which is on the street and they call the cops to trail their car because they are jealous, never have visitors.) was shooting a printer box with an g&g mp5a5 , mp5sd5 and g&G ak47 ... then the cops came and bla bla bla us and said the neighbor called the cops because they "Though" it was real guns.

Come on , would you be shooting a box with a real fire arm? would you be wasting your ammo money on boxes? hello , there's no fire coming out of the flashhider lol. Plus , g&g's are full plastic (though we painted it full black).

What did you guys tell the cops when they went to you? I'm pretty sure this is a common "problem"

Its also illegal to do so within city limits.

This is epic fail. Never do this again.

If you want to shoot around your house, you've got 2 options;
1. Live out in the bush, nobody can see you.
2. Talk to you neighbours, so that they understand.

You should have seen that coming! NEVER EVER EVER DO THIS AGAIN!!!! DO NOT SHOOT ANY AEG OR GBB (clear or not) WITHIN PLAIN SIGHT OF PEOPLE!

Good Lord!!!

If you want trouble, please take your guns out in full view of neighbours, let alone shoot at things.

And in Montreal? I wouldn't even do that in Alberta, where guns are plentiful and not looked down on as instruments of death for women and children.

You should know better.

I'm curious as to what you told the cops?
I am fairly new to airsofting and so if i was approached by a cop, I won't really know what to say.. other than:
cop: "your neighbor thought they saw a rifle/smg in your property being used. is this true?"
me: "I have an airsoft blah blah blah"
from here on out, I don't know what options the cops have.. the one thing I'm cautious of is what if he decides to take my baby away? and shes my first gun..

Go to an approved field for airsoft play, set your hop-up, etc.

That's how we all do it.

A head shop can sell you a bong. Not illegal to sell. Does that mean its legal to use it to smoke illicit substances? No.

Rule #1 about airsoft; never shoot it where people can see. Ever.

We just said its a fake gun ... shooting plastic little balls and the cops said ok but don't do this again and we went to shoot inside the house. The cops were amazed (montreal cops are friendly) about how real they looked like. Still , they were just giving us a warning to not bother others even it's a replica firearm but we got our lesson

Hey, come on , every mistake is an lesson.

Shooting ... anything... inside city limits is illegal.. the cops could have taken them...

You need to go to a rural area.. or a airsoft field to use them

because you can buy them at Canadian tire .. does not mean you can shoot them anywhere .. Canadian tire sells shotguns too.... obviously you can't shoot skeet from your balcony..

Do you think that your neighbors will understand that just because ure shooting boxes with no fire coming from the flashhider that the gun is fake? In the eyes of the public, a gun that looks real is REAL to them, and hence, they will take precautionary measures in informing the police. Regardless if its your neighbors or people walking up and down the street, they will think you have a real firearm if you take it out to public

Dont you think thats kinda common sense?

Do what I do to test fire. I have one of two places.

1) Lengthwise in the basement. Shoot the box down there, no one can see you.
2) The garage (Keep the damned door closed). I just shoot the leaf bags.

Saves yourself a ton of potential trouble.

I wouldn't be surprised that cops would come to your house. You should be smart enough to know if someone out there is looking at you with your friends and the guns. You know should know your neighbors, your community, and think how would they react if they see you with a gun. But they don't know your friends and that factor have caused additional disturbance.
