Madly leaking TM high-capa mag

Well, Today, i took my TM high-capa out and filled a mag up with gas. As soon as its full, i stop filling, and instantly notice gas hissing out of the botom of the mag. I take off the base-plate, and notice that the mag is leaking at a ridiculas rate, it was empty in ~30 seconds. I am fairly new to GBB's, but this mag was only about 2 weeks old. I think i have been taking care of it the right way, 2 drops of silicone in my propane bottle every few mag fills, and always keeping 3 or 4 shots of gas in my mags when im not using them. Am i missing anything? And is there any way to fix the mag? or am I out 50 bucks for a mag i have used less then 5 times.

See that philips-head screw on the bottom of your mag when you've removed the base plate? Tighten it up (don't overdo it). That should fix it.

if this dont work, open it and wrap some teflon tape around the o-ring, i fixed 3 of my kjw p226' mags with teflon tape

If that doesn't work, most likely the seal on the fill nozzle is broken/crushed/out of place.

TM mags are not like KJW mags. At least not on those two guns. They almost never leak from the main seal.

Hmm, Well, i know nothing about gas guns.

O-rings? Seals? I have no idea what you guys are talking about. Ill try taking it apart, look for anything obvious thats broken.

Figure i have nothing to lose.

Tm mags are good for fixing themselves, if i have a leaky mag i just keep filling it and it usually fixes itself and will seal again.

Sweet deal! i just took out that big screw, Cleaned and lubed the big chamber, and re-tightened the screw. I actually ran out of propane eariler tonight, but ill test it out tomwrow and report back

Hope everything worked out.

I would suggeset putting a little bit of teflon tape near the head of the screw that holds the gas chamber together.

If all of this failed their is a square gasket/oring, take that out and soak it in a bottle of silicon oil over night and reinstall.

So, with a tight screw, There is no differance. I think i remember hearing somewhere that an easy way to find leaks was to fill a sink with warmish water and put your mag in it. Well, I tried that, and low and behold, the entire Bottom peice of the mag lifted a few milimeters off of the body, and gas was spewing out all sides of it. Could i simply glue this pice solidly back on the rest of the mag?

do as Azathoth mentioned. unscrew the philips head screw on the bottom of the mag and pull the base plate away from the body of the mag. look for a rubber oring/seal on the base plate. inspect it for damage. if it doesn't have any knicks or obvious damage, slowly and carefully remove it and soak it in a silicon bath over night. you could also liberally coat the seal/oring with silicon if you don't want to risk damaging it on removal. let it sit and do it again. carefully put together the mag and be careful not to over tighten the screw. gas it up and test. you could also put a couple drops of silicon directly in the mag to lube the flow valve oring if that is where the leak is coming from.

Don't Keep you mag full with gas after use always keep it empty for safety reasons as well as it puts constant stress on the magazine's seals. I've never used a TM GBB Mag but I'm sure there is a gas release button, when done using your gun for a while then press it in an open outdoor space and it's considered "safe" and it increases the life of the Mag, But good work on using silicone most new users to GBB guns don't use it and wonder why the seals break.

I can't help but read the problems you have on the magazine so let me add another one. I recently purchased a western arms beretta from a friend and I find that when I fill the mag with gas and bbs, I always run out of gas before I finish all the bbs in the mag. Any thoughts?

Um no. Don't listen to this advice. Always keep some gas in your mags to keep the seals tight and prevent them from drying out and leakage.
