ICS M16 stopped firing

Ok, I've had my ICS M16A3 for probably about 3 years. I bought it brand new and have never opened it up. The only thing I've changed on it has been rewiring the connectors to deans which fixed a previous issue.
I was playing with it all yesterday and it was working fine, the only thing I noticed which was uncommon was it was sometimes double feeding on full auto, it didn't bother me though. However, in the last game we were playing I was really giving it a workout, I don't normally put down sustained fire, but I was using a lot of auto. All of sudden, in the middle of shooting, it just stopped. No noise, no grinding, no clicking, just stopped firing, I assumed it was a dead battery but even when my batteries are dead I tend to hear the faintest noise of the gun trying to cycle.
I tried a new battery, nothing, no noise at all, but the thing that made me realize I had a serious problem was when I pushed the forward assist button. From what I understand, the forwards assist on ICS guns releases spring tension or resets the mechbox or something to that effect. I pushed it and I didn't hear a thing, usually I'd hear a noise indicating a release of tension on the spring, so I'm not sure. Anyone have any ideas?

First thing I would check out is the fuse. You may have blown it. If you can confirm the fuse is fine, I suggest you crack the receiver open and pull the trigger. With no spring load, the motor / gears should turn easily. If not, then your problem is either electrical, or the motor.

Ok, I'm not sure exactly how to tell if the fuse is blown, but taking it out I noticed that the wires are a little mangled around one of the connections for the fuse, I'm going to replace the fuse and connectors and see if that works.

You just simply look at the fuse to see if a wire inside has been cut off.

If you are still not sure then just take the fuse and connector two connector together and fire a few round. If it work, then you should know the problem.
