Are there any ribbed barrels for AEGs?

I was thinking of AEG and their similarities with real fire arms
when I thought of this...Are there any ribbed barrels for AEGs?
I tried to search the forum as well as google for "ribbed barrels"
but found nothing.

Thank you in advance!

This is what I mean!Sorry folks but I am greek
and don't know the special terms used to describe
such equipment. Now I know the term is rifled barrel.

Is this barrel useful or its just for showcasing ?
Are the advantages the same as with real rifled barrels
and up to what grade?
The price is not so high and I am thinking to install one
in my d-boys m4 if it is really better than common airsoft
precision barrels.

Thanks again!

There's the thread that talks most extensively about tanio kobo twist inner barrels: click

the basic gist of the thread is that any gun that shoots over 330 fps will become very inaccurate with a wide spread but the barrel is good for guns firing under and up to 330 fps with 0.02g bb's (actually 1 joule or less).

From what I have heard these barrels are only good for stock fps or a certain fps range. Also heard that it makes the current hop-up system useless. This info is unverified and is only "talk" I havent had any experince in these types of barrels just passing on what I've heard.

It would make the current hop system useless. You don't want any backspin, the rifling puts a spin, instead of the hop putting a backspin.

Both of you are correct according to ILLusion's tests in the thread linked in my last post. Apparently the hop-up has to be turned all the way up or else the bb will fall short.

edit: It should be noted that the rifling isn't actually for giving the bb any sort of rotation in the way that rifling does in RS guns. It's for ensuring even airflow around the bb while it passes through the barrel to float it through.

The rifled barrels make a significant consistency improvement in Gas guns. I choose Tanio Koba in my 5.1 pver PDI tightbore for consistency/accuracy. I have a P90 length twist barrel in my stock cqc gearbox and it shoots better than the Stock TM barrel. With my field gearbox installed on the P90, I notice a slight improvement in performance, but the field gearbox has almost no original parts in it.

You guys claiming "facts" about the Twist barrel may want to try them out or do some more reading before you spout such claims (which are often incorrect.)

1) The Tanio Koba Twist barrel does NOT twist the projectile. It does NOT work in the manner a real steel rifled bore barrel does by putting a twist on the bullet. What the TK Twist barrel does, is it twists the AIR around the BB to float it through the barrel and prevent it from touching the walls of the barrel (this is the theory and marketing claim.) By having it bounce in the barrel less, the trajectory is less affected, and as a result, shoots straighter.

2) The Tanio Koba Twist barrel does NOT make the hop up system useless - in fact, the hop up system is still very much required. In short barreled guns, I've had to turn the hop up to MAXIMUM to achieve the best results, otherwise, the range would be equivalent to use of the gun with a normal barrel. This shows that the hop up system is still working!

3) Use of longer versions of these barrels (such as in AEGs) shows that you can NOT simply put the hop up to maximum, and just like on standard hop up systems, you will need to play around to find that perfect spot to prevent flyers.
