Release spring hint needed

good day
I need to open a Ver.2 mechbox but the spring is currently in full compression and the motor cannot circle it to release it.
Is there a way to release the spring by hand?
Thanks for your input

Regards

With the motor out you can take a metal pick or cut a coat hanger and bend about 1/4" of the end 90 degrees and reach in and grab on to the anti-reverse lever and pull down. That should release it.

if your're confident with it try to stick a small allen whench or a small needle nose plier in the motor hole to pull the anti reversa latch. otherwise just crack the mechbox open and it will unwind... (done it severeal times without a trouble)

What does that have to do with anything? All he needs to do is pull back the anti reversal latch.

because with a weaker spring it would be easier to crack open the gearbox.... I've done it several times (open the gearbox when the spring is compressed)... and I have noticed the difference....

but ya nvm...

Or you can try to turn the gears by hand from outside the mechbox with a flathead screwdriver. Or you can stick a long thin something down the cylinder from the nozzle end and push the piston back until it springs forward again.

Maybe something is broken and the gearbox is locked up?

Might just be that the spring is at the peak compression and the battery/motor combination just doesn't hae enough torque to turn over at this point of the cycle.

Throw on a bigger battery like a 9.6v large or a Lipo.

hello again
Sorry for the late reply.
The spring is of unknown % but I know it is a hard one as the motor on it was able to move it till compression and then unable to cycle the last bit to release.
I am running a 9.6V but I dont have a lipo on hand.
the motor is a TM EG1000 Max hi-Torque
I am not very confident to crack it open with the spring fully compressed so I will go for the Anti Reversal latch option.
I will let you guys know how it went.
Thank you very much for the input.
Best regards

has this gear box been upgraded befor?
it could be that there is a bearing on the spring guide and on the piston head.
if this is the case, than the piston is jammed due to the spring being fully compressed befor the piston got off the sector gear.
like it has been said, try to remove the pistol grip/motor, than using an allen key/bent wire, or niddle nose players and pull on the anti-reverse latch.
once you have released the spring you can safely open the gear box. i would highly suggest that you remove one of the bearing on either end, that way you wont run into this problem again. remember you only need one bearing set for the spring, either in the piston, or on the spring guide "not on both".

Hello there
The anti reversal latch release worked!
I made a fish hook out of a strong paper clip and released it.
Thanks again for the input I hope it helps others.
