Connector problems.

So here is the story.

My friends and I bought a whole bunch of batteries from cheapbatterypacks.com (all wired to tamiya), figuring I'd do the folks a favour for the game tonight and charge up the packs with my peak charger.

Here is a bit of info about my set up;

I am using a ProphetSport peak charger wired to lare tamiya. I use a large to mini conversion wire purchased from airsoftGI. When you plug a battery into the charger it is supposed to beep, and a red light blink. You then press start and it begins charging.

So I hook up my intellect battery, the charger beeps and finished charging in no time. I take one of my buddies CB packs and hook it up to the charger but the charger won't beep, and the light on the charger is showing no signs of life. Thinking this is odd I disconnect his first battery and then reconnect a second - still no beep or light. Tried both of mine, no such luck.

Is this really 4 failed connections? A problem with my charger? A problem with the batteries? incompatibility in tamiya connectors?

Just a bit of info, small connectors are wired the opposite of the large connectors. Not sure if your problem, but a good thing for you to know anyways.

I don't believe that this is the problem. I have used that large to mini adaptor several times successfully with a wall slow charger, and using the same adaptor on the peak charger with my intellect one. I think the issue may be with the cheapbatterypack supplied tamia.

--- ahh god damned, you're right. the connectors on the new set of batteries have been put in "upside down" - so the red goes to the black and the black to red on my connectors

Lol, but in my charger I wired up a mini pack the worng way (had done three just before it) and I kept blowing the output fuse......... not sure about the way your charger would react to it.

But ya, there is a semi circle/square on one, and a full square on the other fo rboth connector types, but the polarity of the two types is the opposite, so you have to make sure all the reds and blacks line up properly regardless of connector polarity (to a point).

So was that the problem?

exactly as you said. on my adaptor, wall charger and gun red=circle, black=square.

On the battery the whole thing is opposite.

So now the question is, was this an honest screw up by cheapbatterypacks.com?

Not likely. They're very good. Most likely your buddy's fault choosing the wrong connector. You can choose regular mini or airsoft mini (which is wired in reverse).

Get a very small screwdriver or something like it (maybe a thin toothpick?) and slide it down the side of the pins from the front. You have to flatten the teeth/prongs that are there so it can slide out. Once it's out, flair out the prongs a little and slide back in the right side and they should catch.

A group of us ordered a few mini's from cheapbatterypacks and one of them was wired backwards. It's probably just 1 in a certain amount. Honest mistake type stuff but you might want to get on it for a return, I think they have a return period.

Its nothing man. I've already flipped the wires so it runs properly and managed to charge everyones batteries.
