Tactical Force MP7 gearbox damage

Hey! On my TF7, theres a plastic rod with a point that connects to the drive gear, one to a spring, and one to the air nozzle to make it reciprocate, but it snapped in two. The chamber can no longer open to let BBs in. I asked somebody and they said it was called the tappet plate, but they weren't sure. Any of you know where I can get a replacement? Preferrably made of metal.

Why do they make an All-Metal gearbox with ONE plastic part anyways >.<

Good luck finding the part...can't help you there.

So far as the plastic vs. metal parts....there are some parts in a mechbox that are under a considerable load...and others that aren't.

Some parts are made out of plastic for cost reasons (face it...you're dealing with $20 toys...the manufacturing cost...not your cost). E.g. spring guide, bushings, nozzles, tappet plates, etc...

Some plastic parts are made to flex/bend/wear in lieu of other parts bending/wearing...especially when they're odd/thin shapes.

A thin tappet plate, with its 90deg angles, made of cheap/sh*tty metal would not be as strong as the same piece made of plastic (good plastic...not the cheap brittle stuff) that has a bit of flex to it.

If something is going to break...better off a cheap and readily available part (i.e. piston) vs. a hard to get or expensive part(s) (i.e. gear set). Unfortunately...the MP7 is not super popular...so you'll most likely need to order the part (stock part should be fairly inexpensive)...but you'll get dinged with international shipping and duties (which will be several times the cost of the part).

Best of luck,

Tys
