Mechbox Assembly Issues

Reassembling my mechbox after some upgrades and just have a couple questions. First I've noticed that the tappet plate isn't sitting flush on the sector gear and will be forced down by the upper bushing when i close the box is this an issue? Also I've noticed that the silicone gel that i purchased to lube the cylinder and piston rails is quite viscous and actually makes moving the piston into the cylinder quite difficult even before the bore (V2 gearbox) Could I be possibly using the wrong gel or is it always this way. Finally what grease should I apply to the piston teeth if any (lithium or silicone gel) I know they'll end up mixing anyway just want to be thorough.

The silicone gel that I'm using is a plumbing lubricant for faucets but it's all I could find between 3 different stores, the viscosity is very alarming moving the piston on the rails by hand takes quite a bit of effort I'm worried about gumming everything up (cant figure out how to use the edit function sorry)

You really shouldn't use silicone gel. You should be using silicone oil or a silicone oil spray in the cylinder/piston head. You don't want a bunch of goop in your cylinder, it will just clog everything up and slow it down, and probably give you poor compression, not to mention youll be shooting a bit of silicone gel out with each BB lol.

I would recommend white lithium grease on the piston teeth and the gears and whatnot. Not super dense really, and the gears can move it out of the way easily, unlike a goopy silicone gel.

I used white lithium grease on the gears and was following instructions from a certain website (mechbox.com) on the silicone gel for the rails and cylinder. I do have silicone oil handy I suppose I can lube the cylinder with it

silicone oil is much better. you dont want anything viscous or 'goopy' in the cylinder. as i said before you can get poor compression among other things. just generally a bad idea. all you need is a thin coat of silicone oil or a spray of silicone and it will be good. it doesn't need too much.

Regardless of which you use, do NOT over grease your gears. Too much grease (silicone oil, ect..) can be worse for your than not greasing them at all. All you need is a very thin film on the contact edges and surfaces to do the job properly.

Ya I made sure not to over grease, but now that I finally put my gun back together just to test everything (thanks to the V2 mechbox) I'm only getting the ominous click and no firing and I could have sworn everything went together perfectly, didnt overshim, must be the tappet plate caught on a shim or squeezed down by a bushing.

Is your motor depth adjusted?
Once you closed the mechbox with screws, could you turn the gears manually?
Tappet plate has nothing to do with non-rotating gears.
Tappet plate cannot be squeeze between a shim and bushing, you wont be able to close the mechbox.
