Plastic L shaped thing out of Kalash AK74u
Hello, there was some unpleasent rattling in my Kalash AK74U, upon opening the receiver I was greeted with a weird L shaped piece of plastic. I have no idea of what it is, and I don't recall ever seeing it on my TM AK.
Any idea of where it goes folks? Cheers

That's odd.... I don't remember seeing that before. Does it look like it could have cracked off on any side?

I've worked on TM, CYMA, Aftermath, and a DBoys AK and have never seen a piece that looks like that before. Strange.... could it possibly be the stopper for the spring on the bolt?

Obviously none of you have worked on a DBoys AK before, because that peice is standard on all their AK's. LUTNIT I'm talking to you.
I know where it goes but I want to see how many people don't, because its a pretty obvious piece to keep the internal structure of the AK in place. Let me grab my popcorn. |

Never seen anything close to it or a gap anywhere where it might go. I am by far NOT an AK expert and I'm going by the fact that the guy told me it was a DBoys, there where no trades on it to confirm it was a DBoys or not. Looked just like my CYMA but my CYMA is stamped "CYMA" all over the place, this one wasn't.

How critical a piece is it? I don't know of anywhere in an AK it might go but am quite curious now as to why DBoys altered the design when everyone else does a straight clone of TM.

LUTNIT, DBoy's doesn't make AK's, they clone them.
DBoy's cloned the VFC AK which in my opinion is a better design than the TM version. |

Hey, bang for the buck wise, DBoy's AK series is the best around, and I am not just plugging them because I sell them.
Externals are top notch if you get the steel version of the gun, internals are a little bit shoddy but with a bit of work, you will end up with a gun that'll cost the same as a Marui, but full metal and upgraded to the tits. Oh and I forgot to mention, field stripping the DBoys is almost like the real thing, and whats nice about it is you can throw on real steel foregrips without any modification. |
