SOS! AEG locks up in auto, needs to fire a few rds in semi to unlock.
This is really driving me nuts.
I have a G&G SCAR, it was dead for awhile, due to the gearbox permenately locked up, and I didnt open it up to unlock it. And just recently a friend of mine and I opened up the gun and changed back its stock spring. At first it was firing ok, but it would lock up after a few rounds, usually during semi, and if firing auto that is simulating semi, it would also lock up. Everytime it locks up, we needed to open the mechbox again to unlock it. However, I soon discovered that the wires connected to the motor comes loose for some reason, and I just used a clamp to tighten the connection. And I thought I have achieved something, but it is not so. Since now this just brings me to the current problem, it works sometimes. When doing full auto, it would often locks up and I would need to fire a few rounds in semi to unlock it. Sometimes, just leaving it alone for awhile will also let it start working again. I would flip the selector up and down sometimes, I am not sure if this counts as its own condition or not, but it would work after awhile. My friend suggests in might be a battery issue or a motor issue. The battery I use is a Intellect 9.6v 1400mah, and its only pulling on a stock spring. The same battery pulls other guns okay. I am not sure what to think here. I have a Guarder Infinite Torque coming in today or tomorrow, but I am a bit over anxious, what if it doesn't fix the problem? Any help or pointers would be much appreciated! If any more description is needed, I will do my best to describe it. Last edited by hiheyho; November 13th, 2008 at 05:26.. |

have you tried using another battery? sometimes you can get a battery even after a full charge can die quickly due to a bad cell. Semi-auto draws alot of power to get started, as compared to full-auto which has momentum uses less power, hence the reason of lockup differences between the two settings.
To me this sounds like a battery problem. Try another battery other then the 9.6 14000 you got and let us know how it goes. If its not the battery, What are you internal parts? eg. piston brand name and such. I also know for a fact that guarder gears are total shit The only thing they have good are tappet plates and cylinders Last edited by Spa; November 13th, 2008 at 14:17.. |

1st of all, thanks for your reply.
I have just slap on a intellect 9.6v 3600mah, seems to fire fine now. So can we conclude its a battery problem? What can I do to solve this problem? A 9.6v 1400mah is like the biggest minis I can find, due to SCAR's small battery space. And before opening the gun, I was able to last several games with the same battery without having to recharge. All the internals are stock as of now, but since I am getting massive air leak, I am planning on getting a systema cylinder set to fix it. When its firing using the bigger battery, it sounds really crisp like its new. So I am thinking the gearbox assembly/shimming is pretty good. |
