need help on broken hi capa nozzle
this is my first time modding a gbb and i happen to stuck on this problem.
i just bought a hi capa 4.3 stainless and replace the following items: airsoft surgeon brazos custom slide nine ball dyna piston head a custom made recoil spring (around 120% stiffer) before i replace other parts i test fire the gun and found that the slide stuck (most of the time) on the way back (during blowback) and the loading nozzle is all the way in front.it seems like it does'nt go back in time. after comparing with a friends gun, i found that if i push the nozzle forward by hand,it only moves by 1/2cm and the upper side of the nozzle hits a part in the slide near the ejection port.while my friends can be pushed all the way till i can see the piston head. i also found that my nozzle is cracked because of the incident. what is the problem? should i file/dremel the part on the slide so that the nozzle can move forward freely? i checked the blowback chamber but its position seems right (95% sure). thanks be4. |

If my metal slide is upside down, I can't slide the nozzle forwards, it catches. But if I put it rightways up or pull with even up-down force on the nozzle it goes all the way forward. So there might not be a problem with that at all.
As for the nozzle, yes you'll want new one. |

It's somewhat "normal" for stock nozzles to crack when shooting it with propane / green gas and a metal slide. The stock nozzle is not designed for that much pressure - upgrade it to a Shooters Design or Guarder.

Shooters Design, NOT Guarder....
I've seen too many people reporting on losing efficiency and power using the Guarder to go that route... |

Okay, that's good info. I personally don't use Guarder anymore. I find the Shooters Design one to be a much better value considering all the other parts it comes with. And besides that, I haven't had any problems with the SD one.

How long do they last? I'm using a metal slide and propane, and mine's fine.

@styrak:"But if I put it rightways up or pull with even up-down force on the nozzle it goes all the way forward. So there might not be a problem with that at all."
the problem is that even in the rightways up, it still gets stuck halfway,i have to push the nozzle down a little for it to be able to move forward some more.does this means that i have to file my slide? or what? @Illusion:i allready order the shooters design one, what do u suggest, try the nozzle first and see whether the SD one also stuck (risking another break nozzle) or file the slide before trying the new nozzle (im not sure if the slide is the problem). one more thing, some ppl said that the SD floating valve that comes with the nozzle tends to stuck and it is adviced to use the standard TM one with the SD nozzle.is it true? thanks |

yes, use the stock floating valve with your new nozzle...

No that seems to be the case with mine too, if I'm getting what you're saying.

a friend of mine suggested that i use a micrometer and measure the depth of his "normal and working slide" on the area where mine hits.if his is shallower than mine, than i have to file the slide, if not than the problem is elsewhere.will this method works?
ill try to post a picture of my slide tonight. thanks |

guys, these are the pictures of the slide and nozzle
the nozzle fully retracted, looks pretty normal but when i shoot the gun,the slide would jam and the nozzle is stuck in this position resulting a hairline crack here all the way to the cylinder part if i push the nozzle forward manually,it can only went this far and the nozzle would hit this part of the slide.the only way to make the nozzle move forward some more is to push it downward from the ejection port. should i file the marked area? im worried about the alignment between the nozzle and the hopup unit. if i file the slide, theres some possibility that the nozzle is positioned higher than the hopup unit. the other option is to put 2 or 3 layers of electrical tape between the blowback housing and slide,it will make the nozzle position lower so it can be pushed forward fully, but than i found out that i cant install the slide to the lower frame without filing the parts where the blowback housing meets the lower frame rails. what should i do? i cant afford to make mistakes since it will take more that 2 month to get replacement parts (in from indonesia and airsoft parts is kinda hard to get) thanks alot Last edited by simohayha; November 10th, 2008 at 08:04.. |

like we've already suggested, switch your loading nozzle.I have Shooters Design nozzles in 6 Airsoft Surgeon slides all with no problems.

@ILLusion: just install the nozzle.....how did u know that the shooters design one wont stuck? it works just fine without me having to file anything.one thing though,i know that i should use the stock tm floating valve.but how about the parts that keep it in place (the one with the screw hole) should i use the shooters design/stock tm?
if this problem fixed, im planning to install a PDI 6,01 inner, guarder stainless outer, and SD grip.any advice regarding those parts? thanks guys |
