VSR Camo
Well I've been working on this project for about a month now and have gamed it a few times. Most the bugs are worked out of it already, which I am happy about but after some feedback from some teammates, the black gun stuck out.
So last night I figured I'd camo it up, so I grabbed a can of Krylon Olive Drab and Kahki. Now I've never attempted a camo job before, so it was alittle unnerving working on my TM, but here it is: I think it turned out ok for only using 2 colors. |

I'm an automotive painter, but this was a very different venture.
I used leaves and long grass. |

Very nice! I've used long leaves kinda like the grass you used practicing on a crappy nerf gun, and it almost made it look.. no. It's still nerf. Awesome paintjob for your first camo job especially! I agree with m102404 about being scared to paint, but it's getting kind of necessary.

I think a little bit of brown would help, not for looks, but for practical use

Very clean, very nice and breaks up the outline of the VSR well.
I hope that you play in dry areas.. similar to the trunk, because if you are playing in green areas... (such as your lawn.. or someone else's lawn :P ) it will stick out.. ermm. like a stick.

Na man, my yard was only used to snap a few photos. We have a gravel pit where we game so the colors should go well together. |

Nicely done! I couldn't graduate from finger painting class let alone do such a nice job first time out.
If you haven't got one already, suggest you acquire a flashkill for that rather large and reflective piece of glass you have there otherwise your considerable efforts may prove somewhat less than effective when you really need them the most. Cheers! 'Fly

or instead of flashkill, get some webbing? scrim? face-veil material and tightly attach it to the front.

Ya that'll be my next addition.
I gamed it today as it is and it worked out pretty nicely. Alot better then a black gun anyways. |
