VSR10 bolt jolts forwards.

Hey, I am not much of a Gun doc, like most of us, so here I am. I have a stock VSR10 Clone and out of the blue its no longer firing. I pull the bolt back and it will click but then it shoots forward without touching it.. other times it may sit there and if I nudge it.. it jolts forward.. no air comes out. Now I have read on this (not sure if its the same) but I am assuming its the seer? that's not catching. Not 100% sure.. that's why I am here.
Any advice is awesome. Thanks in advance.

option 1. use the search link at the top of the page. this particular subject has been more than adequately dealt with. did you even bother doing a search first?

option 2. take your gun apart and find out first hand what is wrong with your gun and learn how to fix this very simple malfunction.

holy fuck buddy just wanted a second opinion on this. I did search, I did take it apart everything seems to be working fine but it is obviously not. On the search, like stated before, I found some information but mine seems different because other issues involved the bolt sticking. If this is a simple issue then instead of being a worthless bathdodger why don't you hand out advice?

You're right it sounds like the sear not being able to hold the spring back.

First check to see if there is an adjustment on the trigger. It is possible that the screw backed out enough to cause this problem.

If the rifle is well used, it could very well be the sear.

The sear in the VSR is it's weakest point, so chances are your sear needs to be replaced.

Check your sear but also check the piston. My buddies clone he had the sears were fine but the piston was getting eaten.

Hey dumbass... if you actually read his post he already pointed out what he thought the issue was and wanted a second opinion before he started ripping his gun apart and buying parts. This shows he already did some research and at least has a bit of an understanding of how his gun works.

whoa buddy easy there... no need to fly off the handle like that we're all friends here.
a search for "vsr10" will bring you to a list of threads. One such thread is this one:

http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthr...vsr10+cylinder

look at picture number 4 in post #2 titled "cylinder takedown and upgrade".

you should be very capable of comparing your parts to this pic making an assessment regarding damage.

The other possibility is that your spring isn't compressing far enough to allow your sear to catch. if you have put in a longer spring or have any spacers, behind your spring, that could cause this particular problem

ALSO look at bean's problem solving post in this thread. i believe it's post number 6. He specifically talks about problems iwth the gun not staying cocked or not cocking at all.

There is no Damage. I checked all that out before.. like stated I did search, found that thread and was comparing it. Nothing seems out of the ordinary.. I left my rifle at my buddys house so I am going to have to wait before I can check the trigger adjustments. If it's stil fucked up Ill buy a new seer/piston just to be safe. I'll also check my spring while firing it to see if that is the issue.

it would probably also help us find the problem if you told us which particular clone you have... each one has a different set of problems

try shimming first.
closer to the bottom of the thread.

if that doesnt work, you could take this into an an airgun smith. this particular TM model and all clones are similar in mechanics to pellet
airguns... and if they cant fix it, you'll need to do something drastic like rebuild your entire cylinder/bolt or get a new gun.
sorry buddy...sucks when a gun breaks.

This is the problem.

This is not a VSR 10 it is a clone http://buyairsoft.ca/catalog/product...roducts_id=373

and if you check their part number you can tell it is a TSD SD700 I have one and it is not the sear it is the soft ass ABS piston the sear breaks a small pice off of the softer piston just get a PSS10 hogh compression piston not the zero piston as you will need the trigger as well ($40 vs $180 nuf said)
a quick test for thi is to take out the bolt assembly and unsrew the cyl head and pull out the piston and feel around lip for a small flat spot you can put it back together and line up piston on a different spot and it will work for 8-10 shots but the gun shots 430-445 so the stock piston wont hold up against the pot metal sear and once i get the alluminium piston im sure the sear wont last long.

or you can just get a new one and run a few rounds through it til it breaks again

I almost forgot, fork or spoon
