ICS M4 Lower Mechbox Stuck

My ICS M4 lower mechbox will not budge at all. I followed every step in the disassembly video but then at the LAST step of popping the mechbox out it won't budge! It goes a bit then is stuck on something... this is turning out to be a lot of fricken trouble...

did you take the pin above the trigger out, the mag catch and the grip?

Removed the Centre Pin? Really small one that runs through the body and the mech right above the trigger, also removed mag catch, grip, turned to semi? then it should slide out.

Bah! Didn't see that center pin. Thanks... now if I could only change the pinion gear myself I'd be set.

One way to change a pinion gear ( assumeing its one that does not have a grub screw) is to heat up the gear then insert only the gear it in a vice lined with small peices of wood. Then get a pin punch and puch out the motor shaft through the pinion gear.

Reinstaling is pretty staightforward its just a press fit.

ICS with a receiver cross pin? I don't think so, lads. Never seen one yet on an ICS.

I'm looking at 2004 model right now. No pin.

I don't recall one on my 2006's either.

The one I'm looking at is an Olympic Arms CAR-97 as well. 2004 variety. Faux pin, but it's cosmetic only. Someone must have modified your's, because they don't come that way that I've ever seen.

Renegade, PM me your e-mail. I'll send you 2 detailed receiver pics of a 2004 OlyArms CAR-97 and a 2006 with Colt trades. No cross pin on either.

Built a few ICS M4's from scratch over the
past year and none had a Flora Pin— not
called a "cross screw". The ICS split mech
works well because the lower is fixed in
place by the motor screws and stock
adaptor screw, threaded through the back
of the lower.

I've owned the early gen up to the ICS CQB
M4 pistol and none have had a Flora Pin.

Edit: My mistake I did own one with a Flora..
Yep the CAR... It's got one for sure. Most of
the ICS models don't there are the odd one
with it. Time for bed.

Yep that's the one I'm selling and yep that flora pin is functional. It's a fullstock so maybe the difference is there as Safx says:

The stock adaptor screw never makes it into the lower receiver so something has to keep the lower mechbox in place.

same here, my stock screw doesn't go into the lower mechbox, but can go into the upper. I opted not to, to keep the ability to open my upper intact. Perhaps the flora pin comes on LE stock versions only, while non-flora pin models came with a fullstock?
