KJW M9 Complete loss of efficiency?

My KJW M9 started to... suck lately. Usually a 5 second fill of propane resulted in at least a mag worth of shots from my original silver mag, same for me other two black mags. Lately efficiency stopped dropping (mostly on the silver mag at first) to a point where I end up with 2-3 shots, and with weak blowback at that.

The gun is stock with a supposedly upgraded hammer spring. Nothing seems wrong with it, besides the broken trigger spring.

Tips, suggestions?

Thanks,
Cheers,
Alex

Since you didn't mention a sudden loss of gas I'd suggest checking the gas inlet valve on the magazine.

Hmm, what should I be looking for? I remember taking the silver mag apart about a month ago and didn't notice anything wrong with it...

Thanks,
Cheers,
Alex

The little pipe that the propane adapter pushes down could be bent or clogged. I had a tire tube valve like that before. Your 2-3 shots and weak blowback sound like not much gas is getting into the mag.

Well, after the shots, is your mag totally out of propane? If so, then it might be that for some reason you're not able to fill them properly. My plastic AI propane adapter is getting that way. The tip is getting all deformed and sprays propane in all directions when I try to fill up a mag. And I too was getting the same result - about 4-5 shots out of the mag before the thing was completely empty. I slightly enlarged the tip on a butane apapter kit and fit if on top of my propane adapter and it works well - at least as an interim measure. I have a Madbull metal propane adapter that should be arriving tomorrow and that should fix that right up.

Hmm... I'll take the mag apart and take a look.

Although my propane adapter is bent (yep), it still seals nicely around the M9 mags, and was bent way back, a long time ago. Works great for my Glock19, fills it up great for a lot of shots.

Thanks,
Cheers,
Alex

Mine would fill up my Glock 17's mag without a problem, but couldn't get more than 4 or 5 shots out of the M9's mags for some reason. Might be because of the different type of fill valve. I don't know. I'm just guessing here.

And BTW, it woudl also work my duster adapter attached to the top of the propane adapter, but I seem to have lost my duster adapter. Have another one arriving tomorrow with my new propane adapter though.

yeah, my plastic AI adapter is doing the same thing, flowering at the tip, and making it tough to get a good fill.

Hence why I ordered the metal Madbull adapter instead. Should be a lot more durable than plastic for about the same price.

Time to bring this thread back:

Trigger spring fixed, trigger mech functions fine now. Got a minty metal AI propane adapter, still the same lack of efficiency problems with all my mags...
