glock 18c issue
hey, i have a glock 18c, bought it like, 4th hand or something, i dont even know. either way, the previous owner never really had any problems with it however as soon as it got into my hands it started acting up. Its got a metal slide, recoil spring and outer barrel. The problem is when i fire it, either full auto or single it doesnt seem to be cycling properly, the propane pushes the bb out, but doesnt push the slide back far enough, and then vents out all my gas.
i dont know if its a factor, but the left side of the feeding ramp is broken and the hop rubber seems to be messed. i'll take pictures if i can. anyone know how to solve this? |

Good oiling will help if not fix the problem. Get oil in around the hammer axle and other parts within the rear of the frame, and some oil into and around the block back nozzle where it slides back & forth in the rear of the frame. And, put a wipe of oil around the tip of the nozzle where it enters the hop up. A bud of mine had the same problem as yours, the BB would come out but not enough to send it fast and hard, and the slide would barely budge. I told him to put oil around the nozzle where it enters the breech/hop up, problem solved.

Your rocket valve could be gummy as well. If it isn't closing properly (too strong a spring or broken), all the gas will go to the BB and none to the blowback mech. A sticky rocket valve (spring, lube) would cause what you're describing.

Or bent springs not properly re-installed within the nozzle assembly. Those will screw with the retraction.

after taking it apart, i think the bent springs are the problem. how much would it screw up my gun?

Depends on how bent they are. Generally the gun should still work, but if the springs are caught in the mechanism and not allowing a smooth retraction you could experience some odd problems like not being able to get through a full mag of BBs before the gas runs out. That problem I recently fixed in my upgraded G19. And all I did was cut off the bad parts of the springs, stretch them a bit to compensate for the lost length and reinstalled carefully. And by carefully I mean it has to be done carefully!! Having a small slotted jewellers screwdriver helps a lot.

He's right. Think eyeglass screw, only smaller. At least they're magnetic because mine rolled onto the carpet twice and I would never have found it otherwise.

You could also order new springs, if you're not confident about reshaping the existing bent ones. IIRC, Leonard (JAFA) can get them, and KSC is a lot quicker to ship the parts than TM.

Also check your rocket valve to see if it's still intact. KSC Glocks who exhibit the problem you're mentioning have the caps of their rocket valve cracked off the stem - causing it to be unable to create a proper seal in the cylinder.

can or cant? if you can't, its probably the hammer in the way. all you have to do is pull down on the release tabs, push the slide forward, and if it doesnt come off, you have to take a small screwdriver or whatnought, take it to the back and push the hammer down. that should solve your problems.
