Mixing Gears

Can one use CA High Torque up gears with a TM pinion E700 custom motor head? Does it depend on the Gearbox?

And do pinion heads wear down over time/use?

And how does one change the pinion head of a TM (circle shaped) and of a CA motor (D shaped).

Thanks for the help guys on the questions!

A TM pinion gear is fine on CA gears.

Pinion heads are pretty tough and typically won't wear down unless you're grinding gears or your motor height is improperly set.

As for changing pinion gears...

Also there's a way to remove the pinion with just a penny. Wedge the penny between the gear and the thing underneith it. And slowly turn the penny and it'll loosen. Work on my TM EG1000.

You'll need some sort of tool to reattach a different pinion gear, though. The tool needs to support the motor shaft as you hammer the new pinion gear on. Otherwise, you risk damaging the shaft.
