TM AUG - Front Grip Stem

Greetings,

I visited the ASC Armoury and picked up a Guarder Steel Vertical Grip Stem for my AUG.

I am now trying to remove my old grip ( wasnt damaged or anything I just didn't want to wait because it was bound to break eventually ) and I am having some trouble.

Step 1 of the following guide simply says " Remove this pin" but thats my problem, that pin is not comin out and im afraid to realy go hard on it.

Is there any trick to this? Or do you just need to beat it into submission? lol :?

Thanks in advance!

It should come out after you apply enough pressure. You have to push it hard enough that the spring which locks the vert grip into position can hop out of its groove there. If you have the tools, you can lever the base of the grip out, then unhook the spring with some pliers (I cut myself badly once doing this with my fingers). Without the spring tension, the pin should come out much more easily.

Unhooking the spring is your best bet. Just open the bottom of the grip and disconnect the spring. But its easy putting it back together

strongly recommend just pushing the pin out and not trying to unhook the bottom of the foregrip. Once the pin is out the bottom will shoot off with a long spring attached to it.

When putting it back together put the foregrip in place, slide the spring into the grip far enough so the pin goes through it and the body of the gun, put the pin in then use plyers to pull the spring out of the foregrip bottom and hook it onto the plate at the bottom of the foregrip.

Got it out now, just took some work...

Got any advice on what sort of adhesive to use once I reassemble the foregrip?

Picture seems to use CA260 adhesive, I was hoping for something a little more... shall we say; Canadian Tire

My searches seem to advise ABS Apoxy or Sluyter ABS 55Y Yellow ( for the purpose of cracks and breaks in an AEG body ). I assume the CA260 is used in the grip because of its ability to come apart at 90c easily.

Since I got a steel stem going into it, would it be okay to use a serious adhesive and go for rock solid?

It's gonna be on a phantom aug so the grip will be stuck down there all the time, I need it to stay together lol.

Thanks

I'm 99% sure that it's the same, seeing the parts commonality in general. Could someone with a CA verify?

I don't think the necro is a problem, as long as the post isn't completely superfluous. (and at least, it shows that they did in fact search first )
