Stupid AUG question

Has anyone else had problems removing the mechbox from an AUG? I've searched for mechbox dissassembly for an AUG but all I can find is version 2 instructions (which I already know). I have everything apart as far as I can tell but when the mechbox slides to the back it gets stuck on something. I don't want to force it out but it looks like it should just "fall out". Any ideas / suggestions?

Oh yeah, I guess I'd better be more specific and say that this is a TM Mil AUG.

Heheh, yeah, I had a hard time finding AUG specific stuff too. The best I've found is the arnies tech manual. Basically, you have to force it. After it gets past that bump, it slides out no problem.
I've found that it helps to hold the top of the magwell in place while you remove the mechbox, as it tends to slide towards the back and in the way.

left the ass end up and pull. Simple as that. Plastic will bend. Watch the wires on the bottom as they might be jammed in between the motor cage and body. Rearrange them as need be.

Much nicer to get back in. Just watch the wires.

Hey Bry, try these:
http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/?filnavn=...civ/index.html

or
http://arniesairsoft.co.uk/?filnavn=...aug/index.html

Let me know if you need a OEM manual, and I can drop one off for you next time on campus

Thanks for all your help guys, looks like I was almost there but I hate having to force anything when it comes my AEGs... and Jeff, I'll take one of those manuals if it's other than the one that comes with the gun. I have that but it doesn't explain how to take the mechbox out nicely. Just give me a ring or PM me and we'll meet up.

That's what was happening exactly.

Ah the AUG - such a beautiful rifle.

Mechbox removal: 2 screws, remove back plate. Remove barrel and receiver.

Take body and smack buttstock (yes, smack) on top of a hard surface. Mechbox will release. Angle Mechbox so that wires do not scrape inner surface.

Be wary of the spring assembly on top of the Mechbox. Be especially wary of the TAB holding the spring pin in place. It tends to break easily.

That rifle just rocks. Best stock out of the box, next to the G36.
