WE Hi-Capa 5.1 blowback problems

my stock WE Hi-Capa 5.1 is having some slide problems...

1. When I load up a mag with full gas and shoot, I can only get about 2 - 3 consecutive shots before the slide fails to cock back the hammer fully and load the next BB. I use green gas and it was room temperature...but I have to manually cock the slide back every 2-3 shots as the slide wouldn't go back all the way even on a full mag of gas.

2. my lastshot lock back mechanism doesn't seem to work correctly, I can't get it to lock back after the last shot....but it will work if i only load one BB into the mag and then load it into the chamber. if the slide won't block back after the last shot I can actually pull the slide back and it'll lock that way without going back to its original position (maybe the slide wasn't in the right position when the slide lock was triggered?)

Thanks!!

for my TM 5.1 got this problem, but thats because the plastic slide catch notch on the slide has literally been worn down.

for WE cld be ur gas is not strong enough as the metal slides wont suffer like the TM plastic ones. urs is TOP gas?

or cld be internal breakdown that i not sure. if the GBb is brand new shld not have this problem.

What method are you using to gas the mag?

When my propane bottle gets low I don't get enough gas to fire a full mag. If you haven't already tried it, then try using a new bottle of gas.

The problem lies with the manufacturing of the W.E. guns. The tolerances are such that maybe about 10-15% of the guns do this.

The problem is due to the mag not making proper contact with the blowback chamber inlet. You may notice that you get alot of gas shooting out around the slide and some of it gets deposited on your wrist when you fire. You basically dump 10 shots worth of gas with every trigger pull.

There is no real fix for this. You would have to tear down the entire gun and dremel alot of things to make everything fit as designed, but I usually just swap slides and lowers until I get a combo that works.

CO2 mags don't suffer from this though, oddly, but changing out Green Gas mags does nothing.

Strange, mine all seem to fire fine (2 x 5.1K and 1 x 3.8 baby), unless my propane bottle is low when I gas the mag. I have been having problems with my CO2 mags though. I'm not sure if they are plugged somewhere or there is a valve screwed, but both of my CO2 mags are screwed and don't cycle the gun properly, even with new powerlets. My green gas mags all work flawlessly, although they are definite gas hogs.

Yours could be the same problem as well, Wayne, just in reverse. I've never seen that, but I have seen it alot with GG mags.

I don't think my problem is the guns though, as both CO2 mags worked fine initially, then one of my CO2 mags screwed up and the last time I played the other CO2 mag was screwed as well. They were the same in either gun.

when I first got this gun it worked fine...until about 2 days ago the slide just wouldn't blowback enough to load the next BB....the mag and gas fill seems fine, so i guess not enough gas went through the slide cycling process

is there a way that i can fix this? or try to fix this. thanks

I've encountered similar issues, but it seems really intermittent. I can never predict when it will vent all over the place. I can imagine if it would do so constantly, I'd be a little more concerned.
