Question Trigger problem 1911.

Hi, this is my first post here. I recently bought a wa colt Mk IV series '70 SCW 3. It came in half assembled. All I had to do was put the cannon and the spring in place and screw the grips on it... My question is, if you fire the trigger when there is no Gas in a wa, is it supposed to trigger the hammer? It does nothing, I have no experience whatsoever in assembling/deassembling guns and I want to be sure I assembled it right before putting gas in and maybe breaking it. When I pull the trigger with my KJW beretta, it triggers the hammer even if there is no gas in the mag. Thank you.

Beretta's are double/single action meaning if you pull the trigger when the hammer is not cocked you will be able to pull the hammer back and then it releases. A 1911 is only single action meaning all the trigger does is it releases the hammer when its already cocked, the trigger wont pull the hammer back on its own.

At least I think this is whats going on based on your question...

Each time you fire the gun, the slide will cycle and reset the hammer into the cocked position.

Your gun is working fine.

Thank you... for a sec I was worried.. You might want to know that I sucessfully imported a western arms colt from Asia to Canada. without customs applying that fucking red nozzle paint on the gun. Slide, clip, grps and cannon were separated from main gun but all in the same box... Gift toy was written on the box at my request to the seller.
