gear
hey im just getting into airsoft and im getting my gear together i already have some old stuff because i used to play paintball alot. do you guys have any suggestions or where i would get this gear?
i would need: a black vest preferably black something swat'ish that would fit ak mags (im planning on buying a ics ak47m) something like that would do i have tri desert bdu's somewhere around here i dont know if this has been discussed but what are the usual rules for eye protection? mask/goggles/or tactical glasses? which would i be required to have in qc (montreal) would it be cheaper to buy: gloves, boots, balaclava, etc at my local army surplus or online? (if online can you suggest a site please) that should be everything, if you have any suggestions/substitutions/anything im missing please give your opinion. thanks |

read a bit more thoroughly please, i know how much the stuff would be approx at a army surplus, its a reliable canadian site that sells tactical gear that i need. preferably not on the other side of the country. |

i smell someone that likes to continue pointless rants... would'nt it just be easier to tell me a site instead of arguing? my thread wasnt SOLELY about gear sites, so i dont know why youre even bothering to argue... if you know a reliable site and want to fill me in go ahead im not forcing you to do anything. this was about my gear, i wanted to know if i was missing anything or if i should sub things out.

Apparently you missed the "Canadian Retailers" tab at the top of the forum.
We don't know the prices at your local store, so it's up to you to do the price comparing, not us. There's nothing pointless about what Mac is saying. |

I highly doubt this vest's pouches will hold AK mags. They're made for AR mags

That Blackhawk vest can take 1 AK mag in each pouch.
Unless you plan to wear a SWAT loadout all the time, you should reconsider another color that is more adaptable to outdoor and indoor games. OD or Coyote Brown (Kahaki) are very good to start with. Choosing a vest with PALS webbing can give you better flexibility in deciding what mags and pouches you need for each specific game. Look for MOLLE pouches. They are design to fit onto PALS webbing. I've shopped at http://www.optactical.com and they are pretty good in prices and delivery times. Uniforms and boots can be purchase at the local Surplus shops on St. Laurent boul. but your kit should be from online retailers. They have a better selection.

thanks alot for the sites guys, i appreciate it. i would have probably bought some vest that didnt fit my mags . im going for more of a tri-desert, black getup. because i already have some tri-desert stuff for now so ill use that till i can get some other bdu's. im not "trying" to look like swat i just want a black vest and since most of the black ones i like are swat ones thats why i said swat vest. |

...I guess you misunderstand what I was saying.
We can't tell you which option is cheaper because we don't know your local store's prices. Since you do, you should be doing your own price comparing. |

I don't know what goes for protection in the QC area but if all you need is a pair of full seal goggles I would look at ESS or Bolle goggles. ASCA sells the Bolle 800s.
I haven't got a lot of experience with the Bolle set but I know my ESS never fog and haven't given me any trouble since I bought them. |
