HFC M199 Special Edition (Jamming Problem) - FIXED
I purchased a HFC M199 from Anderson & Anderson about 3-4 weeks ago. The gun is used rather regularly, but up until recently it has been in good working order.
The problem originally started only when firing in full auto. Occasionally a BB would pop out of place and jam the slide. This would happen with only one round every other mag. The problem has progressed significantly. Now when firing in full auto roughly one round out of four will fly strait out of the ejection port, occasionally getting caught and jamming the slide. The slide has also started to jam in semi auto fire as well, although not nearly as often. I have added no upgrades to this gun, nor have I done any disassembly beyond basic field striping. I fire it with propane, and run silicon oil through it every six mags. I have also preformed maintenance oiling once, as instructed in the manual. I think the mag may be wearing down and just can’t hold onto the rounds any more. I was thinking of purchasing a TM mag (as I have heard they are compatible) to see if it would help. I have uploaded two pictures showing how the round jams the gun. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanking you in advance Autumn. http://www.airsoftcanada.com/gallery...php?i=3819&c=4 http://www.airsoftcanada.com/gallery...php?i=3818&c=4 |

I was really hoping not to have to buy a new mag. I guess I will give it a try though, and having a second mag sure as hell can't hurt.

I got the new mags and it still did not seem to fix the problem.
On further inspection, I found this gun has a rather massive hop up rubber, it barely fits around base of the inner barrel and into the hop up unit. It appears that it managed to pop its self out a bit around the edges and was causing the BB's to not load properly. I opened up the hop up unit removed the hop up rubber, cleaned it up a bit and put it back in. I have ran 3 mags through it to give it a good test and not one jam, problem solved. |
