good question about how much damage...so lets do an experiment!!
i will return with video for you after this weekend...looks very similar to design made here.
how close do you want the shots to go from? 1 foot? 15 feet? 20 feet? 30 feet? 100 feet? please place your responces soon...one night only heading up after lunch

if a bike helmet can withstand you head smashing into the ground and takeing rocks in the visor at 100mph, im sure it can handle a bb - oh yes they do crack, but it has to be a pretty gadamn big pebble or youve gotta be going stupid fast.

I actually know of someone who uses a Skateboard helmet with a cover on it and it works great. Lightwieght and looks great with the cover. Has taken AEG, pistol (shotgun and sniper) hits as well, some at close range.
