Do U think white is an underused color?
Just wanted to get your thoughts or opinions. I think white is an underused color for camo patterns. It seems that Multicam, Russian Sniper suits, and a certain Euro pattern (which I'm forgetting what country) all use a little bit off-white and they seem to be very effective because of it. I'm thinking of getting some spray paint and painting just a few small flecks of off-white or cream dots over my kit. What do you think?

I can't say I love a camo pattern more than the Russian sniper suits so I guess your idea , for me , is a good one. Just a thought : in summer , where do you see white in our natural environment ?

I would not.
When playing in dark forest, white stand out too much. One day I was wearing a Québec flag on my BDU. I was ambushing and I was told that all they saw, was the white on the flag and fired at it. The flag was small. An other example if the Snow Dragon patch. I don't remember who got the flawed one with the white strands in it. I just remember when I was sniping at them, all I could see is the glowing white strands moving into the distances. White attract the eye, so I would not use it in a camo pattern. Multicam as beige I think. It's not white.

I find white to be just as good as black. Off-Black when used sparingly tricks the eye and mind into think it's a shadow. In the summertime, in bright green vegetation, the undersides of leaves that blow in the wind have an off-white look to them. Also, in bright sunshine, the sun bouncing of the shiney/waxy grass and leaves also appears to be basically white. In fact, many think the white dots on fawns helps to camouflage themselve as it appears to be sun dappling the ground. I find Multicam has a similar effect.

in fact , black isn't used in outdoor games for the same reason as white : stands out too much.

Have you ever played a game?
No disrespect intended. But You will see that when you are searching for someone in the field, you will be atracted by bright colors. Especially if it's not matching the environement. When I see upturned leaves, I look closer. That mean someone just disturbed them. Black and white are poor colors for camouflage. But if I had to choose one, I'd take black.

Well, I need to stress that I mean off-white or cream color. At least that's what my eye picks up when I see a Multicam pattern. I see khaki and I also see cream dots.

yeah , maybe that's not that bad but don't you think a whole BDU set in that color wouldn't look a bit silly ? IMO , it does

EDIT: BTW, the "off white", like you call it, in multicam is what make it stand out in wooded environements. It's also what make it great in arid places.

Yeah, that's why I said "I'm thinking of getting some spray paint and painting just a few small flecks of off-white or cream dots over my kit." in my op. I don't mean to make a whole suit of that one color. I just think a lot of patterns could be made better with the use of a few cream dots splattered here and there. No more that what Multicam uses. |

Yeah well if the conditions are good and all, and if your not going to stand out in an open forest or anything stupid like that, it should work well
