WA Loading Nozzle Problems
Lots of posts here about Western Arms pistols, and everyone seems pretty knowledgable, so I thought I'd throw this on here. :-D
I've got a WA Para Ordinance P14.45 Limited (SCW2?) that has a few quirks: Shooters Design Metal Slide Guarder Enhanced Loading Nozzle Guarder Recoil Spring & Hammer Spring 1. The pin that is supposed to hold the slide lock doesn't quite touch it (it's very loose). This basically results in the slide locking back in the middle of a mag because it'll jump up with vibrations, etc. My current temp fix is simply holding down it lightly, which works, but I'd be nice if I could fire the pistol one handed, just in case. 2. The loading nozzle (both the original and Guarder) doesn't quite catch on sometimes, or will release too early. I've tried cleaning both areas where the friction would catch on, and it helped a bit, but didn't do much. I've already tightened the screw that holds the two pieces of the chamber together. I lose about 50-60 fps (330 normally, 270 now), and a lot of blow back, because of this. 3. Sometimes at the end of a mag, BBs will double load, or even in the middle of a mag. I think this is related to the loading nozzle problem however. 4. Another question: I have a Shooters Design Aluminum slide that doesn't fit the nozzle chamber properly, it's actually really loose when the frame is on there or not. Could this really misalignment really cause the nozzle to slip/not catch on properly? How should I secure the chamber to the slide? I don't want to do anything permanent of course. |
