Customs? or BS?

Ok so its been a long time actully 31 days since I placed the order for a few things from a place called kuramae. I called last friday and they said that customs is inspecting it. I know this is total bullshit because everytime I order from them the item is delayed. WTF? I don't know but I"m getting sick and tired of thier excuses.

First it was oh it'll be another week because of delays
Then it was oh the company can't track the package
Then it was we still can't track the package
Then its oh we tracked it but its at customs...it'll be another week...
well its going to be friday soon and if they don't get their act together i'm not shopping there again.

My first order was delayed 2 weeks...

Who thinks its because of customs and who thinks its just BS?

They're a store in Pacific Mall so there's no link sorry

I think I'm going to shop at 6MM from now on.
So if you want your stuff on time stay away from Kuramae I'm told upgrades are OK there but given thier crappy track record with orders I'm not sure anymore

I've never had any of my stuff coming in from the states be held up by customs, an I always get it within a week of ordering.

It could be customs, it could be bs.

It could also be a problem with the shipping company.

Could be that they didn't have it in stock and had to order it.

Could be they didn't want to charge you a ton for shipping so they sent it the cheapest (also the slowest and untrackable).

Could be their supplier hasn't made it yet. (trust me I know about this one)

Customs can be a total pain in the butt.

The key point is that you are getting the products you ordered. It's a pain to wait especially when you expect it by a certain day.

What sites ship to Canada? I've been looking at scopes, vests, and some BDUs. I know army's barracks does but their online department is seriously screwed up I've been to their store though.

I know you can't get guns through customs though which sucks because I want the UTG 870 at the american price just for show.

About 1 in 3 of my shipments gets inspected by customs. Usually they're delayed only a week, but I have had one shipment take 3 weeks to get through. Right now, I've got a shipment stuck since the 14th.

I think its better to order stuff from HK. Customs check packages coming from the States more often.

As far as one retailer being faster and more reliably in getting stuff in over another doesnt exist. Regardless of which retailer you use customs can still decide to keep or delay their packages. I think thats just the nature of the Airsoft business in Canada.

Personal experience says to stay far, far away from 6mm. Every gun I've seen from there, even advertised, has been a beater. It may look and feel fine externally, but the internals required extensive work before I'd trust them on a field.

Why not buy from a Canadian Company?

Every US company I've looked at shipped to Canada, aswell as Europe, etc

www.gijungle.com is a good retailer in the states, they have tons of stuff from WW2(maybe some before) up to modern kit an clothing. www.mooremilitaria.com is also a good retailer if your looking at putting together a vietnam war impression.

But, I only order from US sites when I can't find a Canadian site that has what I want. For airsoft guns, scopes, etc theres lots of good retailers like rangers airsoft, 007 airsoft, Tru, Illusion, etc

Funny, a lot of US retailers I've come across don't ship to Canada. :|

Anyways, yanhchan, your choices are Kuramae and 6mm? What's wrong with you? Of all the reputable Canadian retailers on ASC, you go with two that aren't? Do you enjoy paying more for less?

I know that a lot of you are ragging me on not buying Canadian but its because the U.S. sites have the clothes that I want for U.S. prices. Where in Canada can you find 10-14 dollar Flectharn, 10 dollar U.S. Woodland BDU shirt, 6 dollar BDU woodland pants? Its hard for me to even phantom (ed: fathom) buying clothing/gear from the retailers listed above. I went to Kuramae because I have a serious distrust for the postal service and also the building I live in lets the guards sign our packages so yeah there's been a lot of fell off the truck packages.

I'm going to buy my guns from ASC listed retailers but not my gear. I'm saving at least 50 dollars and shipping is already calculated when I buy American depending on how big the order is and sometimes my close friends buy gear with me so we do a small group order. I know that you are all like support the Canadian Airsoft Community I'm good with that I do plan to buy some more AEGs or Gas Pistols from Canadian retailers but its just that for gear its still more economical for me to buy from the states since our dollar is strong.

Some places sell BDUs for pretty cheap, but its going to all be 2nd hand, faded, etc

A lot of US stores don't sell new BDUs for that much cheaper than you can get in Canada.
