Smile Noob Gear Question

Hi there everyone, just a few quick questions, I'm looking to get into airsoft here in manitoba when the season comes around. So I've got an AEG that I can't wait to try out in action, I've bought a sling and some basic shooting glasses but other than that I'm gearless... what do you recomend I get first, like bear bear minimum for starters.

I've heard boots are an absolute must, LBV is important, then camo, etc. So basically I have 5-6 months of winter and paychecks to get ready for next season, what should I work towards and in any specific order?

Also I'm kinda on a tight budget b/c of university so anything cheap but will last me atleast for a little bit would be nice to know about. Thanks for any pointers you guys can give me.

If you're tight for cash go with either Canadian issue kit or some American BDU's. It's in abundance and it'll be cheaper. About $150 for full set depending where you look. As for the webbing/LBV...take a look around. I would pick some '82 pattern webbing to start with or a SAAV if you want to carry a bit more ammo.

You will want good boots... Think about your feet befor anything. Gortex may be your best bet if you'll be playing in a lot of wetness. Then camo. If your using highcap mags then a LBV/TV ant important... Try to keep the weight of all your stuff as low as you can since there's no point halling extra weight around. Slings are pritty much usless. Also look for PB aproved googles.

Paintball approved goggles; must.

Boots; you can manage with decent and well fitting construction boots.

Pants/shirt/jacket; you can also make do with something 'civilian' as long as you try to pick a color that does not stick out where you play.

Plain 'greens' are cheap, you can find a set of those for $50. That's about it for cheap gear.

You might also want to consider getting some gloves. Depending where you are playing, gloves can help a lot.

Here's a tip some people just carry extra magazines in their BDU pockets. I love the US Woodland kind because the two bottom pockets enable me to carry quite a few magazines. If you are really low on gear just go to a dollar store and get a black fannypack thats large enough to carry a few mags
