TM P226 spitting gas

It started off with my TM P226 just using more gas this past game...and just now I fire it and it sounded like maybe the gun wasn't striking the mag valves properly.

I pulled the hammer assembly apart and found this cylindrical piece that the hammer rotates around broken.

Dumb question but....is this my problem?

Not quite dumb question: Where do I get a replacement piece?

This is common between the KJW P226 and the TM P226. I had to replace the hammer housing too. You can contact KJW for a dirt cheap replacement part. You may want to get a new valve knocker too. The valve knockers are prone to breaking on TM, and KJW Sigs.

Thanks. The knocker looks ok ...it's a shooters design steel knocker.

So that piece I posted that is broken is part of the casing that the hammer assembly is housed in. I can get a new one of that?

You need a whole new right? or left? hammer housing. If you look for a manual for a KJW or Tm P226 you can find the part number and email KJW directly. For the hammer I would go for a steel shooters design valve knocker. Just keep in mind that the knocker is steel, therefore the hardness is higher than Aluminum Zinc. (Pot-Metal) I could see some considerable wear in a few years, but it is not a big deal.

Yeah I have the SD valve knocker already. Might have caused the break.

I need a whole new left side of the housing. If they're cheap I'd just order both i guess.

Now the problem I'm having is some of the diagrams I'm seeing show a pin or dowl in place of where my broken piece is. Can't find the right diagram.

I wonder if KJW and TM differ in this way.

EDIT: Looks like it might be part number 26 REAR CHASSIS LEFT.

The pin that goes through the hammer is the one that holds the hammer assembly in the frame.

Yeah it should be the left chassis. The picture you posted with the broken cylindrical piece will have it casted on the left chassis as one piece. Is the cylindrical piece the only thing you broke?

Yeah everything else appears fine.

I put everything back together the way it was and the knocker doesn't move back and strike forward when you pull the trigger.
Just stays fully extended..

KJW got back to me. There are a slew of new parts for that area.

They sent me a picture showing the differences.

I hope they all work in a TM

The other thread was about modifying it. A soon as I realized I had a failure of something I started a new thread about this new topic.

I didn't want to miss out on advice because a thread about modifying a gun turned into one about troubleshooting.

I stand by my decision to start a separate thread.

I appreciate your post in the other thread, but If you don't have anything to add to this topic, please refrain from posting.

Send Kjw your pic of the broken part and they can tell you. I had the old vesion.

Looking at the pic they sent the old piece is the same, the new one they just added a hole.

They responded super quickly and for all the pieces shipped it only same up to $13usd.

I'll post results when it arrives. Hopefully it solves the issue.
