Need help on buying IMAX B6AC - SOLVED

SOLVED

Hi everyone,

I just bought a Echo1 Ak700 and a KJW elite M9 with metal slide, but now need some help on buying the IMAX B6AC because I have a few questions about this charger. I read one of the stickies that said this is probably one of the best chargers out there, but at the same time, I find it really hard to find one that is not fake!..

So I hopped onto Google and searched for a while. Some says Genuine and still fake, which really sucks. (had to rely on reviews from other people, poor guys who got scammed.)

So I landed on hobbykings this (link) charger.

Even tho it says genuine I can't trust it 100%, so I'm hoping if anyone here bought one from them can tell me if they are real.

Also could anyone help me with a connector that can connect the IMAX b6ac to a mini tam connector to charge my battery? Cause I heard that it doesn't come with a mini tam connector which would render it useless to me.It's a 9.6v 1600mah. I want this charger cause I might switch over to Lipo later, but also keep the Nimh batteries as backups

Thanks!

HobbyKing is reliable and well known enough in the R/C community so there should be no problems ordering from them... if you're willing to patiently wait months for stuff to arrive from their Int'l warehouses...

Order from their US warehouse if you do get it from them. I've still got batteries, chargers, and misc parts somewhere in the middle of the Pacific ocean, slowly floating their way over since the start of June.

Though I did order batteries... so you might be alright with just the charger.

Can't help you w/ the connectors, but there's probably an adapter for what you need somewhere on HobbyKing though.

hobbyking is a rip off.
I don't buy from american retailers or Canadian... I had the imax b6 shipped to my door from Asia for $35. Genuine.
You just need to be careful from where you are buying from and make sure you have some form of purchase protection.

can you elaborate why you think one of the biggest r/c battery pack suppliers is a ripoff? I've never had bad service and everything I've ordered is always here in reasonable time.

IF your orders are taking a long time, it's because more and more airlines these days are not allowing transport of lipo battery packs because of the fire hazard. Certain carriers still allow it so you roll the dice when you pick standard post as that's SAL shipping which piggybacks on commercial airlines when they have extra cargo space.

If you want it within a reasonable time, order with EMS or UPS saver to prepay the ridiculous fees at a lower amount than ups standard. They have all the shipping options listed and approximate ship times.

Second that - Hobby King has been excellent to me, and I find the EMS rates aren't a huge difference, shipping in 2-3 weeks generally makes it worth it.

That giant holy bundle looks daunting alright, but at $10 you can't lose... I have made my own adapters but it'd be silly to offer to make them for others when you can buy them all for that much.

In my case, it's due to HobbyKing sending my stuff via Malaysia POS who decided to put it on a ship and send it off that way. Tons of people had the same issue with them as they didn't tell anyone their orders would be sent via sea regardless of whether you have any batteries in your order or not. Malaysia post just dumped a bunch of orders onto ships and called it a day.

Didn't have any shipping option besides registered airmail so yeah... I doubt it would have mattered what I chose as shipping method as people in different countries have paid for EMS and UPS options only to have their order placed on a ship, this was back around in June and earlier though, bunch of threads about that out there. Think they've started to fix the issue and sort things out, but doesn't help me out at all with my battery situation.

yeah that sucks, I think that was around the time they had an issue with all their air carriers suddenly decide they would not take any packages from HK because of a potential fire risk. there was a knee jerk reaction to something or other..

My last HK order came via malaysia air, and the leading theory for why their other plane disappeared as a cargo hold fire.
