receiver problem
Okay so this one might be kind of hard to explain, but basically I'm switching gearboxes and front RIS out of 2 different M4s(1: king arms oberland arms, and 2: the deepfire va custom). Whats going on now is that I've changed everything major so far but when I have the barrel in the gun the top and bottom receiver are off by maybe 2mm causing the hop-up/barrel to not seal properly and the gun to misfire/terrible fps. I've tested the receivers without the barrel in and there's zero problem connecting properly, and like wise testing the hop up and barrel holding it into the gearbox with zero issues firing.
Has anyone else had any issues like this, if so how did you guys fix it.

I use matching parts from the same brand.
What you're encountering is called "tolerance stacking" and your wallet is the only cure. You have to start ordering new parts and swapping them in till stuff starts fitting. Or hand it to someone local who's been down that road before.

Well damn I was hoping to get them working for a game or two before I get more cash for new stuff, The Deep fire has been nothing but problems I was hoping to at least get something good out of it.

Got a KingArms upper if your RIS is not integral to the Deepfire upper...
Let me know (It's greyish/gunmetal however, not black-black). |

Thanks for the offer, but as it turns out I've got it working. I wanted to triple check everything just in case before giving up, and after taking everything apart and putting everything back together it works just fine. I'm not 100% sure what the problem is but I'd wager a guess I didn't seat the gearbox properly somehow, and all though my RIS isn't flush to the receiver its firing just fine!
