KA M4A1 Trigger question

I have a KA M4A1 with a very long trigger pull.

I pulled in apart and replaced the contacts(they were fryed) But that did not fix the issue.

Ive only Had G@G guns before this KA so I don't know if this is normal or not.

Even with the safety on, Ive got a 1/2" pull before the lock.

Thoughts or recommendations will be helpful.

I own 2 king arms and neither act like this. You may want to replace your trigger.

Just the trigger? This seems Odd, It shows no sign of wear.

What brand of trigger contacts did you put in
Not all trigger shuttles are the same

I have encountered enough problems with KA triggers in later models to declare it 'an issue'. It seems that the quality and precision of the moulds for their trigger blocks and harnesses are in question. Replace the entire block/ harness assembly and your problems will disappear.

1/2" seems excessive - is this an actual quantitative measurement or simply a ballpark.

They are somewhat long - yes, but still very much operable.

That having been said, KA guns have gone through several different internals revisions over the span of just this past year.

Thanks for the info guys, I would never have guessed it would be the trigger.
I used a tape measure to check the pull length.

I installed SHS contacts.

What trigger would work best for me?

Trigger-wise they are all relatively the same as long as they are to the right spec. If you want to reduce trigger slack on take-up, you can try the Speed trigger but its adjustability is limited by the requirement to interact with the trigger block for Safe.

There is no current ability to stop over-travel unless you want to modify your trigger switch assembly, which I would recommend only for advanced users.

I'm thinking I'm going too make 1 at work with a longer post, so it has less travel before hitting the contacts

Your contact prongs are probably too far apart, simply move them back together a bit.

You don't have to make one with a longer post, just shim the back of the existing trigger. Don't shim it too far or the sled wont reset after semi auto.

I did a google search and cant find where too shim. I like the idea though.
