Headset and PTT recomendations
Hey Guys,
I've been reading quite a bit during the past few weeks and am at the point where I'm figuring out what radio set-up i want to use. I think I've settled on the Puxing 888 for the radio, now I'm looking at headsets and PTTs. Headset: Ideally, I'd like to run a set of replica Comtac II I could mount on the side rails of my Emerson Fast PJ helmet. From your experience, which unit is best within a 80$ budget. PTT: I'm thinking of running a PTT on my left CIRAS-MAR shoulder strap, I don't like the ergonomics and looks of the U94, so I'd probably be looking at a Peltor PTT replica. Again, from your experience, which unit would you recommend. Thanks! |

For me, Ive tried full earmuffs and didn't like not being able to hear around me, So I bought a set of Midland Tactical Action Boom Mic w/ PTT and couldn't be more happy.
Just something too consider about ambient sounds.

Thanks Chromey!
I've already had a single earset and really don't like it, plus I'd like to go with a true milsim look. Any feedback on comtac 2s? |

I have these and they've lasted well. You need to use their PTT. You can find them on eBay and eHobby etc. also.

Thanks for the heads up, the headset looks great! Now I just need to find a PTT that will work with the Puxing-888 (kenwood 2-pin), I can't find one that seems compatible on Huang's website. |

So I've been reading quite a bit and decided to go with Z Tactical as they have a large array of available products online and are a bit less expensive than TRI.
Radio: Puxing 888 (http://airsoftdepot.ca/catalog/produ...oducts_id=1736) Headset: Z-Tac MSA Sordin (http://www.ebairsoft.com/tactical-zs...et-p-3502.html) PTT: Z-Tac Peltor PTT (http://www.ebairsoft.com/element-zta...rd-p-2546.html) Helmet Bracket:FMA Sordin Bracket (http://www.ebairsoft.com/z3ad-peltor...97-p-5732.html) |

I have been using Z-tac stuff for about a year now and can not and will not fault it, well built and great sound quality even with my lower market Motorola talkabout T200.

I use the element Z tac Comtac 2 I purchased from mach1airsoft. I really like them and fit perfectly under my ACH helmet. Great sound amplifiers and I cannot find a fault with them yet. Been using them for around four months consistently. Haven't try'd to use helmet adaptors with them yet. Hope this helps.

I have a pair of ztactical sordins copies... for airsoft they're not bad. They do cancel out loud noises and let ambient noise pass in. If you have a loud AEG though, it's enough to trigger the block out.
