TM PX4 slide stop not catching

Hello guys,

I am new to airsoft and pretty much is the only one to play among my friends. I don't have too much experience and don't really have anyone to ask.

So I found this forum, and registered.

I purchased TM PX4 with several TM mags. Recently during a maintenance routine I noticed that the slide stop fails to catch the slide around 80% of the time, when it's dry of course. When I pull the slide back manually it works without any issues, but when firing it doesn't work mostly.

I use propane on my PX4, and this happens with all of my mags, so I am ruling that out. The slide catch used to work, I've gamed with it once. It's still a new pistol, like I said, only 1 game so far. I did notice something curious, it will more likely to lock when the gas is nearly empty. Is this an issue with it cycling too fast? Temperature is pretty hot lately.

I took a look at the slide stop and the notch inside the slide, there doesn't seem to be any excessive wear other than the paint and is now showing silver under. Cleaned it to make sure no silicon oil is on these two areas as well.

I am out of ideas, so if anyone can help me out I'd greatly appreciate.

P.S: I did do some digging around to see if there are any answers on this forum before I posted, I searched through several keywords. There are some people who are experiencing issues with TM slide locks, but not with a PX4. If I missed a post that had a solution to my problem, I'm sorry but please point me to it.

This is what the slide catch should look like (on a functioning one).

If it looks okay or similar to mine, then the problem is probably elsewhere.
Double check that you've libricated all the right places, or if there is anything messing up the recoil spring. If you've recently installed a NEW recoil spring, it will take some time for it to settle and "stretch" so that it isn't tense enough such that your gun doesn't slide all the way back.

I don't know much about gbb systems so I hope that helps.
