Maple Leaf Buckings

Hey all,

So I was looking at getting a new bucking for my Type 97 and I came across the Maple Leaf bucking series.

Apparently they're really good, so I'm going to be looking at getting one, but there are also these RTX Nubs that Maple Leaf makes.

From what I can see, they're some sort of flat hop nub, but some stores are pairing them with the Maple Leaf buckings together.

Does anyone have experience with these nubs? If they have to be used together, wouldn't the ML bucking have to be modified? And if so, what's the point in getting that; why not just get a standard bucking to shave it down?

Slightly confused here and any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have used Maple Leaf hop up rubber. Heard some guys on 军火酷 forum talking about it and bought one myself to try, works great, I like it.

The idea is similar to a R-hop, using larger and curved contact surface to increase the accuracy.
Unlike the R-hop, this don't have the adventage of using different material for sealing and friction (sealing needs soft rubber while friction part needs hard rubber, which is a dilemma on traditional Hop-up), but this is easier to install than the R-hop and needs no modification.



I think mine Maple Leaf rubber came with a nub that is similar to a flat hop nub (so the nub can push down evenly on the "larger and curved surface", a traditional cylinder nub may not be able to do that), or the user can get another nub, saying, the RTX Nub.

It generally works well in my experience too, but didn't work so well in my CA MP5K. It would severely overhops 0.28g BBs when the hopup is set at zero shooting at 0.95 joule. Some fitting might be required, in the case of my MP5K the flat-hop style nub needs to be sanded down to reduce the pressure on the rubber. Think about this before buying it, results will vary greatly form one hop-up chamber to another. Also this bucking, just like the REAPS A+ rubbers, might not fit on barrels with a very small hop window.

The flat nub comes with the rubber...

And yeah, the results will be much much better with the flat nub, I don't think it would work so well with a regular nub because the normally flat surface protruding in the barrel will be warped and its contact surface will be reduced.

Don't worry about that too much.
If your Maple Leaf rubber come with one of this (I think it should) - great, use it.
If not - then it probably don't have to use one.
