Barrett M468 LE (WIP - 56k Killa)
Heres my wanna be Barrett M468 LE:
Real Barrett M468 6.8mm: http://www.barrettrifles.com/law/images/m468-le.jpg http://www.gunblast.com/Barrett-M468.htm My version: Custom 6.8mm style magazine in tan. Magazine in OD. This one was my first try and didnt come out as nice as the tan one. I had to paint it a darker color to hide the imperfections of the fill-in job. Im waiting on the Hurricane M4s metal body kit(http://www.gunsnguys.com/ishop/Conte...sp?ProdID=2960) so I can install a Guarder metal body. That is the reason why the gun is painted the way it is. Once the metal body is on I may redo the whole gun but I kinda like the counter shading effect. Internal Specs: Stock Gears w/ Short Stroke Mod GP POM Piston (mod'ed) PDI 170 Spring (mod'ed for short stroke) DDG Airbrake Pistonhead Shooting at only 300fps w. .20g, average FPS deviation of +/- 3FPS from shot to shot. ROF @ 20 rounds per second w/ 1100mah 9.6v battery. Hop Unit and Barrel: PDI 6.05mm Stainless Steel Barrel (best in the market IMO) Daedalus DevGru V-Hop Up and Barrel Works 8 shots @ 45 feet w/ Iron Sights. Shot in kneeling postition w/o a bench rest. Marui shooting target. Capable of headshots @ 65-70 feet w. mild wind. |

Look what WGC just came out with today,
VFC (GB-Tech)'s version of a replica for this: http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper...VFC-MK-M468-01 Complete with the QD suppressor option. Still a very nice job though. Makes me super jealous... I feel like building a 4th armalite now... |

Okay, so you took a standard TM mag and used epoxy or the like to fill in the creases. Damn, I should have read that a little more carefully. I was searching through WGC trying to figure out which company makes those AEG mags you had
I love the contrast in color

I like the gun a lot, but it needs the short barrel with the flashhider to make it more authentic.

To bad those mags arent real 6.8 mags, However you did a really good job replicating it (This is airsoft, who gives a fuck for ammo size! Its all 6mm/8mm )
Awsome job man, I would love to see what it looks like with the metal body. |

Hey Illusion thanks for pointing that conversion kit out. I was wondering how I was gonna finish up the gun w/o having to resort to custom machined parts. Im gonna put in a order with WGC for that and some more internal upgrades later next week. When the parts come I'll let you know how they are.
As for the Guarder metal body im putting that on hold right now. Im buying a G&P M4 commando soon and plan on swaping out the body/mechbox to the M468. The GP commando will be turned into a ultra light Kitty Kat(http://www.elementconcepts.com/conce...s_cardinal.php) or something similarly sized with a plastic body whenever the M468 is finished. Freedom Fighter and The end, yeah the mags are simply filled in M16/M4 mags. I used Bondo auto body filler its like a two part plastic. The whole process for the mag is quite simple. Make sure you take off the paint before you start filling in or the filler might not hold. Careful with this stuff it pretty heavy duty. 10-15 mins later its all clean and ready to be worked on. Heres another pic of the gun with a cheapo shotty mounted, shotty acts as a battery box for 12v battery and 25 rounds per second. Im going to dump the shotty batt in favor of a 11.1v 1500mah lipoly battery that can fit in the handguard. nocturnal, your right a metal body wouldnt do anything to change the look of the gun. The only thing itll add is trademarks cause right now my body has none, Ive filled them in as well for the 'unmarked mercenary' look. attack beacer, lower is stock marui plastic repainted with Krylon camo paint. Everyone else, thanks for the positive comments! I really havent done much to the gun right now but sometimes less can be better. |
