Which plate carrier?

My original plan was to buy the pantac lt6094 plate carrier from redwolf for about $140 plus tax, shipping and probably duty. But its been out of stock for awhile and now ive noticed this other plate carrier
http://www.airsoftgi.com/mobile/prod...ducts_id=11684

The lancer tactical assault plate carrier. Which actially comes with mag pouches PLUS an admin pouch or hydration carrier. Somewhere i seen that it comes with a dump pouch too. But not to sure. The best part is that its only $70

So what the deal here. Is it worth waiting to get the pantac or is the lancer just as good of a buy?

I'd suggest getting a 6094a, it's light fast and small and the mags are all right up by my chest in the kangeroo pouch. I only run 3 or 6, plus 1 one the gun. But it's your choice, if you like more ammo youll definitely want some pouches.

after some research i found the the lancer is made of 600D nylon and the pantac 1000. So obviously the pantac is more durable.... It seems that the pantac is sold out on alot of the more famous sites but I did find this one site. but im wondering if anyone else knows about his site and if its worth buying from?

I'm using a Banchee Plate Carrier from Tactical Assault Gear.

It's light, sturdy, shoulders have proper padding, plenty of molle and when properly worn you easily have space for a battle belt for extra loading

To draw you away from the repro stuff have you considered this?

http://www.skdtac.com/Shellback-Bans...-p/shb.125.htm

While it is currently out of stock, it's not a china made clone, but a real honest to god tactical plate carrier for $127.95 USD

Now if you are set to have pouches come with your rig, then a china clone might be your best bet then, however I would spend some time looking at the real stuff while you weigh your options.

oh and on a side note while you are looking at the differences between 600D and 1000D (good for you!!) for strength of materials, the stitching is of equal importance! You could have a rig made of 1000D but with crap stitching (China clones are notorious for this) or you could have a 600D with perfect stitching and find that the 600D will outlast that 1000D.

Something to keep in mind.

Also a nice vest but again. doesnt come in the colour i want and it seems like its made from 1000D which is the same material the Pantac is made out of, but the pantac would be free shipping.

+10

Picked one of these up (from LA Police gear) in December, has been one of the most solid plate carriers I have come across since I started.

It is a very low profile vest too if too so it allows for use with battle belts as well. If your worried about fitment and adjustability for body builds, I am skinny and short (5'5") and it fits me perfectly (with some adjusting of course) yet this could probably fit anyone that is 6'0"+ easily.

You might have to pay a little more then most of the other vest but I mean it is for real world applications such as law enforcement so the quality is the top of the line.

See my edit on my post about stitching. And if you would like, I can go into greater detail about build quality (Pantac is good. This stuff and other products on that site are better, and there are other retailers that might have cheaper shipping...)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not someone who pushes real over clone (I own enough clone to not be one of those guys.) for every little peice of kit. However from years of experience and having worn both clone and real deal vest/Plate Carrier/Chest rig,etc etc etc.

For a budget concious player, I would say that your base layer (Pants, boots, belt and vest) should be as tough and durable as possible, which is why I recommend the higher quality stuff. Branches, fences, walls and a billion other things you will encounter playing airsoft will rip and tear apart the lower quality stuff. Gear failure and gun failures are guarenteed to ruin your playing expereince.

As for the colour options.. OD is great, but have you considered Coyote Brown(CB)? CB is in about 78% of the natural world and when it comes to gear, goes with the vast majority of camoflauge options out there.

oh and here is NaJohn's PC all setup for playing with his P90. You'll note that he has intergrated a 1-point sling into his setup. hydration, radio and storage... He is a tiny guy, and has everything he needs on this PC and is very mobile. the 1000D isnt a weight issue if done correctly. I'd spend some time going through this THREAD to get your mind going with ideas.

well its still a tossup between the pantac and the shellback.. BUT i put my email on the notification list for this vest so when if it comes back in stock before the pantac i might get it. I have considered CB. Im fine with both CB and OD but a buddy of mine already has CB and we pretty much have the same gear so i wanted OD to be a little different.

I've ordered plenty from there, great customer service. Only downfall is the brokerage fees UPS doesn't tell you about until they get to your door.

Lol, put on OD pouches problem solved! Though with all honesty I have friends with the same base rigs and once you get customising you will note that while you are similair, your personal style will make the rigs look different. Thats the great thing about MOLLE rigs, you can customise them just like if they were a Honda Civic!

Here is my Eagle Universal Chest Rig. I know 6 people I play with regularly who own this type of rig.

Not one of them looks the same as mine.

UPS is horrible. That's why I favor the USPS service provided by SKDTac.com While I have an initial higher shipping cost, I tend to do an order of multiple items which saves me money there and I dont have to contend with Brown's BS.
