Light rig; TT MAV; alone / on top of?
Hey guys
I urrently have an FSBE style repro, but I don't like much, being a small guy and it being a cheap repro it doesn't suits my needs well, It's a bit bulky for me and hot. So I got a TT Mav1 with the BIB when it was dirt cheap on their site and was thinking on using this from now on; But despite the fact I haven't tried it with all the pouches and stuff yet, I feel like there's something lacking. How do you guys wear these normally? Does it makes sense at all to wear it directly over the BDU/combat shirt or does it *needs* some kind of PC or soft armor under? Any suggestions in that sense? Ultimately I want a light rig, that will be snug; if I need to buy some PC or something I might consider going for something else in that case, depending on the prices. I've been eying the Lfyye RRV for a while, and have recently seen the Shellback Tactical Banshee that is currently discussed in another thread I plan on having about 6 GBBR mags, 2-3 pistol mags, radio, hydration and utility pouch... All suggestions are welcome |

You could also wear it over top of a slick plate carrier. (I sometimes wore it overtop a slick lbt 6094/paca). But on hot days, I appreciate not suffocating in a plate carrier. I wear my TT MAV along with a lightweight battle belt, as discussed in another thread going on here. You just gotta set it up (with pouches) and run it for a few games to see what works for you and what doesn't.

100%+ on the H-Harness, it makes the rig very comfortable for full day/multi day use.
If you want to keep it light you don't need anything under it. I personally like to keep things as light and cool as possible so the less bulk the better. The pouches you put on the front will stiffen up the rig to sit flat on your chest and the H-Harness will position the straps so you can really sinch things tight. There is a TT MAV gallery on these forums in either in the gear or media section. You may get some inspiration from there on how to set it up. At the end of the day, what works best for you is the best set-up.
