g36c powerloss
i bought a g36c off of 007 airsoft it was upgraded to 425fps. I have had it for a couple months now and it has been working fine. It was working fine one day and then the next day i used it and it was shooting so slow(about 120fps) the hop up was completely off so then I moved it up a bit and then shot it and it went about 1m and fell to the ground. I know that it is nothing to do with the spring because i decompress it after every time i am done using it. I dont think it is the battery because i have 3 fully charged ones and i tried each of them. I tried shootiing in full auto then switching back to semi and this did nothing. The gun was not dropped or mishandled any help would be appreciated.

i was really hot out when i was using it i dont know if that might effect the performance of the motor. It feels like there is hardly any air coming out of the barrel

It sounds like the piston head came loose, unscrewed itself from the piston. This is not a common problem, but it is not unheard of either.
The motor shouldn't affect velocity in any way. Is your piston/piston head set the Top Power aluminum set (green coloured) by any chance? I highly recommend you don't fire your gun anymore until you've had someone looked inside. If what I mentioned is the case, the last thing you would want is the piston head screw falling into the gears as you turn them over. You'd end up having to replace the gear set if you did that, and they're not cheap. |

it was the top one, but why would this happen. Inproper installation?

Because the piston head is held in place by a screw, and they occasionally DO come loose. Loc-Tite helps keep it in place. Do what Illusion said and don't fire it til it's been looked at. You could screw your gears and other parts BAD!!!!! I recall reading a tech article that outlined what happens when the piston head unscrews. I'll go find it and post it when I do.

The Top Power aluminum piston/head set is known to unscrew due to it's all aluminum nature. Aluminum is very stiff... causing heavy vibration throughout it on impact. If not threadlocked, the vibrations can cause the piston head's screw to unscrew itself right out.
Most cases of this happening involves the Top Power aluminum piston/head set. In fact, I had it happen to mine as well, but I caught it right away. I had threadlocked mine, but I only put a tiny dab. After catching it, I made sure all connecting threads were thoroughly locked and never had a problem with it since... until the piston teeth died. but that's another story... :P |

should i try to take my gun apart myself or send it back to 007 for repair. Do you think he would fix it for free?

That happened to my stock piston after a while on my AUG, it just ripped the head right off. Couldn't figure it out for the life of me until I took the mechbox apart and found the piston in 2 pieces. I was less than impressed.
I would recommend just bringing it to a local doctor, they'll fix it up for you champ. The mechbox is not for the technologically disinclined, or the unexperienced. |
