King Arms M4A1 Barrel Nut...

I searched, and I found a thread but it didn't answer my question...

So I bought the barrel nut wrench to remove the D ring... But the question is... What direction does the nut loosen off? I know lefty loosey righty tighty, but the flash hider seemed to be threaded the reverse of that.

I just don't want to end up over tightening the nut and cracking my receiver...

Thanks amigos.

It is righty tighty, lefty loosey AFAIK.

Unfortunately, that nut is on tight. My friend was trying to install a DD Lite Rail, and after we snapped my AR-15 wrench into pieces we had to use a dremel to cut off the delta ring, and then the barrel nut.

The flash hider is 14mm CCW (so righty loosy, lefty cracky). The barrel nuts are always clockwise (so lefty loosy). But on some KA guns the barrel nut is Loctite'd/epoxy'd/something and can't be unscrewed (don't force it, you'll risk snapping the receiver at the narrow/thin point where the bottom of the ejection port connects to the front of the receiver).

I'd had to cut one off with a Dremel.

That was how I cracked the red plastic flash hider on my KA M4A1...

You need to use a barrel/armorer's wrench.
