Which optic for rifle?

I may be buying the ASG AW.308 bolt action sniper rifle and will be using it indoors at 28 feet at paper targets.
Do I need a full size scope with what power numbers?- or will a Red Dot or
MRS sight be better for that distance? Recommended brands would be appreciated. Thanks!

At 28ft a bead sight would be fine...

Irons. At most I'd say a 1.5x scope even then that's probably too much, a simple red dot will do fine. You can get some pretty sick looking ironsight setups (I love the KAC BUIS and KAC Microsight combo or the KAC BUIS and triangle post sight).

Otherwise just get a red dot, try looking at companies like Primary Arms, Millet, or Vortex or those kinds of companies.

An Eotech 553 w/ magnifier if you're going to shoot even further if you want, so you get those two options.

For some reason, Irons are a whole lot more fun when you're just doing target shooting.

28 feet? you probably won't even be able to zero out the sight over bore with an optic.

at 28 feet? lol
aim down the barrel, you don't even need sights at that range!

Thanks for the advice everyone. I will probably get a Tasco BKRD30 Red Dot which I have been using on pistols successfully or a Walther MRS sight which is more expensive and has good reviews. I don't think these would be affected by the spring action of this entry level rifle.
