M4 Body Pin Above Trigger Needed?

Hi all,

Just wanted to know if the body pin above the trigger on a M4 AEG is NEEDED? The reason I'm asking is, I had a heck of a hard time removing it, and its not gonna be easy to smash it back in.

Just wanted to get advise from the experts here to see if there is any negatives if i just left that pin out of the gun.

Thanks!

There usually isn't much extra on an AEG.

When you put it together try putting it in first. Sometimes the binding will just vanish.

Yes, you need it.

Like Danke said, take everything apart and put this pin in first, then your fat receiver pin near the buffer tube second, then your pistol grip last... Changing the order of operations can help with fitment, depending on the particular build.

you need to be careful of which direction you remove the pin. on one end it has knurling(cuts/groves) on it, and is meant to hold the pin in place. if you forced it out with the knurling end passing through the gun, good luck getting it to stay in place after reinstalling it.
