Ares Tar21 hopup issues - SOLVED
I have an ares tar 21 Ive only gamed about 4 times before it started to shoot bbs way up in the air. I zero the hopup in and shoot semi, shots perfectly straight for a few shots then starts to fire straight in the air, about 10 feet over target at 60 feet, if i stop firing for a minute, then fire again it shoots straight for a few shots again then same thing. Full auto will do the same thing, randomly shoots bbs straight up and others right on target, Ive tried 3 different brands of mags from friends with m4s, and many different bbs nothing has changed.
Anyone have any ideas as to why this could be happening would be much appreciated. Last edited by Nicolov; January 21st, 2012 at 18:54.. Reason: SOLVED |

Have you checked the hopup rubber for damage?

Sounds like your hop up bucking is worn and giving you inconsistency. Mags has nothing to do with it and if all the different bbs you've tried are still giving you issues, it's the bucking.

First of all taking apart a Tar21 is not at all fun... putting it back together is even worse.. HOWEVER I replaced the stock hopup rubber with a guarder clear i had, shot about 300 rounds through it and it appears to be shooting prefectly again. The old rubber had some gunk in it and a small rip.
Id say problem solved!! Thanks a lot for the suggestions |
