I personally would recommend a Glock. Hicapas are fine if they're your thing. I don't like them myself, feel funky in the hand.

So I'll say what I think should always be said in "Which handgun?" threads. Go out to games, and ask guys if you can see their sidearms. Find one that's comfortable to hold and point, and then get that.

I am the opposite :-P I find that Glocks feel a little funky, I like the 1911/MEU/Hicappa frame feel. That is why I am getting a SOCOM Gear MEU.

I find glocks very comfortable, but actually see if you can hold whatever guns you were thinking of before you decide. Check all features (slide grip, mag release, safety, etc) and make sure they're comfortable and easy for you to use.

I say an extra mag for your primary. I guess depends on what you're actually using it for. Like if you're taking the sniper role, or play in cqb often. Where I play, I'd take whatever gives me more rounds.

I'll also recommend first hand experience before you commit.

I love my M9, but a lot of people don't because they feel the grip is too big.

I love the look of the USP, but found it uncomfortable for me, while the Desert Eagle was too narrow. Aside the M9, I love the quasi perfect fit of a 1911 in my hands. Glocks are ok, but only the G17. G32 is too short.

So you see, this is a very subjective topic. To each his own. You have to balance between handling and looks. Kinda like a car.

The fact you are looking at TM for a first buy is a good idea, they perform well and are reliable.

Try to handle as many as you can. If you ask nicely, people will be more than willing to let you fondle their pride and joy.

Also remember that you can, on most models, install a Hogue-style overgrip or full replacement grips, like this :

Happy shopping.

I'd suggest always going with what feels good in your hands as opposed to the way it looks. If you are more comfortable with it, it will perform better in your hands.

If anything, you can just upgrade it to a metal slide.

I'd rather have a good quality pistol with a plastic slide... then WE potmetal crap...lol

(I've held & own both brands... and yeah I also dislike the TM plastic slide, si I upgraded my gun....but trust me, you dont want to go with WE hicappas....)

Here are the brand I've owned, or payed with, and here's what I think about them

WE = cheap full potmetal guns, performance is meh
TM = awesome performance (accuracy), but plastic slide
KWA/KSC = Awesome performance (no cooldown, better gas consumption then all of the above, works during winter), metal slide...
