operational temperature

I know that cold is bad for batteries, and stiffens your hop up rubber. I'm not sure if cold actually affects anything else, but what is the minimum safe temperature that people usually start using their aegs?

That ranges really depending on how confident people are with their durability. Dont take my word for it but I would say people still play between the -5 and 0 area. Ive played in -10/-15c.

Bagheera's field, -22 During a suprise snowstorm

I was getting literally 1 midcap for every sanyo mini battery.

The homemade venison chili more than made up for the cold tho Thanks again Bagheera!

Nothing of mine broke, but then again, I go the extra mile to put quality parts in my guns.

Another thing people like to say is that your mechbox will crack in cold temps. I know some people who refuse to play below 5 C

I'd go with what T7 said, -5 ~ 0 C

I have not played in anything below 0, but I plink in cold ass temps.

Well for BA cold weather is bad if you have a plastic spring guide, the cold will make it brittle and very easy to break. "Cold" being about -10C

Also depends on your gearbox version and if its reinforced or no.

Cold temp will affect every part on your gun. If it will break or no, depends on the usage and quality of the said parts.

V3 V6 and V9 gearbox can handle cold pretty well as long as they don't stress under heavy upgrades and rate of fire.
Batteries can be warmed.

I've played at -25 once with a P90. It fired all day.
I would not take my M4 (V2 gearbox) out bellow 0. Those things are too fragile.

I regularly play down to -10 with a stock ICS M4A1. No problems at all.
