Number of mags for sidearm

I know that people usually try to carry as many mags as possible for their primary. What about sidearms? What would be a good number for sidearm mags that you should carry?

I usually have 3 for my pistol. I like to run with between 6-8 mids for my primary...it depends on how much ammo you like to use

2-3 is usually good. You can always add more if you find you need them.

I run 3-4 mags on both my primary and secondary, both loaded to real cap.

Hmm 3-4 sounds about standard. That's what I thought too. It's just that some people I play with say you almost never need your sidearm when you have a primary. One mag, at the very most two mags, is all you'll really need. I guess it differs person to person.

Always depends of the sidearm in question.

I run two Hi-capa mags, with like 35 BBs each.

Im not an example of the "standard" but usually I have 1-2 mags for my primary (right now a WE M14 with one 35 round mag) and a pistol with atleast 5 mags, sometimes 2 pistols with multiple mags each

got three mags for my glock...but for my Mk23 that is meant to be a primary...I got 5 at the moment. It depends of what kind of player you are ! I mean...there are some crazy people like me that will go to a game were AEGs are involved but with pistol only! Some others will have a sidearm with one mag that could be empty and that wouldn't be a problem since he doesn't shoot with it lol...

As many as you can carry?

I like having a lot of pistol mags, it's really convenient when you enter smaller areas and get into CQB. Then again, it depends where you are playing. I usually carry 5 mags for my 1911A1 or 7 for my G18C AEP. Both these guns have small magazines though, so it's easy to carry a lot of them.

Depends heavily on your role
Riflemen need more room for other stuff, so 2-4 is good
LMG's have room, but les likely to switch to secondary, so 2-4
A Snipers primary (As Stalker keeps reminding us) is actually the pistol, so 4-6 mags, especially since you'll have the room to carry them
But you can start with 3, and if you find you always need another mag, then you can always buy another mag!

It really depends what kind of player you are, you you load to the max, 3 mags is alot if you play real cap or 10 rounder, 3 mags is kinda pushing it (unless you reload it everytime you spawn)
Personally I like playing real cap, 6 mags primary of 34 and 3 mags sidearm of 12. I reload everytime I respawn to it doesn't affect me

Lots of good inputs. Thanks, guys. I find that 3 mags is a good medium for normal players. In CQB I can always carry more than one pistol, lol.

I use my Hicapa as a primary in CQB, and I have 3 long mag and 3 short mags.
So that's 3x50 and 3x31 = 243 rounds.

i run 2 for my 1911 but need to get 2 more, lower cap means i would preffer at least 4 mags, for my glock i have 2, one standard one extended 50 or 60 round one, really big mag.

usually run about 12 mags for my primary, I hate having to reload mags even in 6 hour games.
