ICS MX5-P MS1 midcap magazines
I've been searching around on ASC and elsewhere and haven't been able to find much information on this.
I'm wondering if anyone knows what brand of MP5 midcap mags will fit properly in my MX5? I have a box of 10 Star MP5 100 round magazines, and they feed if you hold them up, but they don't lock in, so as soon as you let go they won't feed. I've seen some mags that say they fit ICS, or mp5 or mod5 (not sure what mod5 is....) but I don't want to spend more money buying more mags that might not fit. Here are some of the ones I've seen that I thought might work: http://www.airsoftpost.com/100rd-ful...t-p-25340.html http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_i...ducts_id=33493 http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_i...ducts_id=25390 Appreciate any thoughts, experiences, or suggestions. |

Mp5s are notorious for that. Try putting a layer of electrical tape around the top of your STAR mags, see if that helps them "stick".

Tried putting tape around the top... seems to sit a little bit better, but I still think the mag would shake lookse when say running around... So for a temporary solution it works, but I still eventually would like to find mp5 mags that will actually lock in the magwell properly. Guess I'll just have to buy a few single mags of a couple of different brands and see whta acutally works :-)

The G&Ps are really good. Technically, they should feed in your gun. They fit tighter in a TM than TM mags. Great buy.
Also, consider the CA pack of mids. I can't comment on whether or not either of these mags will feed in your gun, though.

Thanks man. I was leaning towards the G&P... Now do I pay for shipping for one just to test.... or take the plunge and get a box... It's only money right? :-)

It was not an ICS, but MAG brand fitted in a TM, a Galaxy MP5K and a G&G.
So far I've been satisfied with them, and they don't cost that much. Last edited by Aegiis; November 26th, 2010 at 18:47.. |

So is the problem that they drop free, or that they just don't feed?
Two totally different problems. |

Don't feed, and would probably drop free if you to jerk the gun. You can just slide the mags right out without having to press the release

ICS mag catch release is really good. The spring that comes with it is really strong. Some brands of mp5 has weak spring in their mag catch release that's part of the reason why they fall easily. I never had to put tapes on my mag's so they wont fall easily. The one's that I've seen dropped alot was aftermath mp5 and JG's. The one's that I borrow sometimes at this CQB place I play at, works well too with my mp5. I think it just really depends on the mag catch release. Plus the screws in the receiver can get loose if you keep putting mags with tape on it.

those 50 round metal midcaps? I think I'd be alright with 50 rounders... Most indoor places only let you shoot semi-auto anyways, right? I might have to order a couple to try em out, I do have a little bit of credit over at AirsoftDepot...

Try KA mags they fit fine in my buddies ICS MP5 (non MX5) body should be the same or similar. Plus they only cost $25-30 for a box of 5 depending on where you buy em from.
